Bobbin - Hanging Fibreglass Lace Lamp by Niels Van Eijk & Miriam Van Der Lubbe

Three rectangular objects that are made of strands of fibreglass now hang in the central lobby of the new building. Just like the original Bobbin Lace Lamp, they provide light without the use of bulbs. The light is produced in a hidden box and transported by the strands of fibreglass until it reaches the end of the object. In this way the entire construction of woven strands of glassfibre becomes a source of light in its own right.

Vertical City by Office of Metropolitan

The planned demolition of an abandoned tobacco warehouse, focus of a bitter dispute involving developers, Jersey City officials and artists who moved in, was likely to anger preservationists bent on saving the city’s industrial district. So city officials called on a big name yesterday, Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, to unveil plans for a 52-story “vertical city” of condos and art studios that will dramatically change the city skyline as it replaces the warehouse.

Day & Night Watch by Amie Lim

The design represents a pair of 2-sided watches. One is for showing accurate time and the other side, being divided into 24 portions, is for showing the 24 hours.

When the “Day” and “Night” watches are placed together, you will see the digital screens joining together in 24 portions on the background.

Antropomorfo (Human Form) Chairs by Gam Plus Fratesi

“Antropomorfo Chairs” is a serie of chairs developed combining forms inspired from childrens drawings obviously out of proportions, with materials, colours and details typical from the scandnavian tradition. A childrens drawing is extremely free. Interesting it is studying and understanding this spontanious expression in a three-dimensional way, translating this language in to a furniture.

Expocentre by Zaha Hadid

Closely located to the Moscow International Business Center (MIBC), the largest investment and construction project in Russia, and Europe as a whole, the Expocenter Project offers the city a new exposition venue, hotel, and residential development. The main function of the horizontal space is to house the exposition and conference halls.

Night Light / Alarm Clock by Ming Hsu

This product aims to redefine the alarm clock. With digital science and technology, this product offers the user a comfortable and satisfying feeling when waking up. It offers an experience of waking up and being able to stretch out without any restricting elements. The condition is mainly for the bedroom. By putting the product on the nightstand next to the bed, it can function as both a night light and a regular alarm clock.

Nike Tailwind for Value-conscious Women

Nike has taken a concrete step by launching a new brand aimed squarely at a market segment not previously served by its core lines of athlete-focused footwear and apparel. Produced by the wholly owned Nike subsidiary, Exeter Brand Group, Tailwind, as the new brand is called, is a fashion-conscious line of footwear, officially launching in three Payless stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn on Tuesday.

A new system to use as a curtain. My idea behind it is to eliminate the colossus which arise when curtains are opened. The challenge is to change a big surface into a small form in different ways. Playing with forms and positions. From large to small in different ways. Born out of irritation with the heavy, massive curtains which absorb the light even when they are open.

Trek Lime Bike - Ride at Your Speed

Lime is for everyone. Designed specifically for the non-cyclist, or the 65% of Americans who currently don’t own or ride a bike. It’s simple, fun and inviting, welcoming you with a well-designed classic look and a natural heads-up riding position. Auto shifting lets you ride at your own speed. When you go faster, the bike upshifts smoothly to the next two gears. When you slow down the bike automatically downshifts, very much like the automatic shifting of your car.
