Don’t get so confused, the Kambala is a mobile phone that transforms to a earphone as well. Pop the center piece and the earpiece clip pings out; clip this to your ear, and you got a phone-earphone! Multilayered Polymer which hosts all the electronic components is used in its construction. A continuous flexi-screen with plenty of sensors makeup the surface and it has the ability to transmit the image on the inside of the phone to the outside. It even does a chameleon act by blending in with your skin tone when you clip it to your ear.

Not sure if I’m buying into this solution. Too many design flaws, all style no functionality.

Certainly minimalistic in manufacturing design.
But useabily it needs improvement.
The most obvious is the ear cutting earpiece insert. Even if the edges are rounded off that would still be quite uncomfortable to wear.
In hand phone mode the earpiece section would buckle a bit when entering numbers.

Not men, I checked! I thrust this piece to myself in an ear =) Thus that it is made of packing from dvd, it comfortably enough sits in an ear. And if the material is elastic enough that absolutely all will be ок))
Though about someone’s dirty ears – I agree =)

Make the earpiece out of a soft, breathable material, and I might just be sold on the concept.

If it takes a picture from the “in-side” it will be in the shadow of itself, and the image projected from the out side will be dark and not look at all like your ear/head… still a novel idea though. Now you can REALLY look like you’re talking to yourself…
