Timely Steeping
I am in love with the Tea-time tea steeper for its intuitive design and simplistic interaction between tea leaves, water and steeping time! A flipping action, akin to starting the timer, sets the tea making process into action. Loose tealeaves and hot water do their steeping business and the ready tea slowly trickles down to the bottom beaker. The timer/filter hold back the leaves and your cuppa is ready to sip!
A point to note is that designer Pengtao Yu has used a spring loaded timer to keep the product low-tech and traditional.

How do you get the tea out of the bowl without burning your fingers? A removable handle does go so well with a design like this, I guess.

Have you ever wondered why tea cups at asian restaurants have no handle? The handless tea cup has been around for centuries and is ingenious… if liquid inside a cup is too hot to drink, you will be able to tell because you will not be able to handle the cup! Therefore, with this prefectly executed design, you would not need to worry about burning yourself if you wait until it is “touchable” before disassembling the two parts. This design is beautiful AND functional. I want one too. PERFECT design. Elegant. Genius!! Please update when this finds its way to market! Thanks!!

This is so stupid awesome. If anyone finds out more about the product being sold please share.
I would love to see a similar concept applied to a large travel thermos so that you could brew a cup at a time all day with a single unit that has break away parts for the loose tea and a cup for drinking.

I think it would not work, because the tealeaves would block the flow…

Great looking like many other net concepts, but it will not work like many other net concepts.
The pressure build up aided by the hot/boiling water will make a decent seal very hard to achieve.
