They say it takes 1800 gallons of water to just make one pair of jeans. That’s a lot of water for something that doesn’t last more than 3 to 5 years. Bolid’ster is however here to change that. No, not by reducing the quantity of water, but by making your jeans immortal. Developed as a result of 15 years of experimenting and research, the jeans are made from a proprietary material called Armalith 2.0 that mixes denim fibers with an incredibly resilient aerospace-grade Ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fiber (or UHMWPE for short), resulting in jeans so resilient, they will be handed down generations.
Here’s what product testing at the Bolid’ster headquarters looks like. Bikers are encouraged to drive on dirt roads and fall off their bikes to allow as much abrasion testing as possible at high speeds (initial tests were performed where the founder of the company held onto the back of a speeding van as he dragged himself against the road). Hell’s Angels are then given a beer or two and told to manually rip off the jean pockets or tear the garment either which way. When the jeans pass these two tests (and they do), the jeans are then used to suspend 4X4s in mid-air… and they still don’t tear, scratch, or fray. Meanwhile, my jeans snagged an exposed nail on the bus and are now destroyed.
The Bolid’ster is made entirely in France, which should quell all doubts you’d have regarding its aesthetics or fashion sensibilities, given that the jeans are so function-forward. Available in three different styles, across different colors ranging from the classic indigo or black, to the voguish red, olive or chocolate. The Hip’ster style is your classic regular pair of jeans, while the Jeny’ster is more skin-fitting. The Ride’ster however, is perfect for hitting the road, with its reinforced/padded knee and backside areas. The proprietary UHMWPE blend with the denim fibers gives the jeans a slight glossy finish, and the colors are guaranteed to last for life, fading ever so slightly by the decade. In fact, the makers are so confident your jeans will last over a decade, each pair of Bolid’ster Armored Jeans (that’s what they’re legit called) comes with an unprecedented 10-year warranty (most clothes don’t even have a 10-day return policy).
