Really? I don't know why people are going so crazy over this. I like the concept of doubling it as a traditional looking alarm clock but as far as longevity goes, I can't see it lasting long before it broke or tore down one of the seams, which no matter what it's made of would eventually. I think the idea is a good one and the design itself of each side is lacking and nothing out of the ordinary. The renders are lovely and it needs a name change. The ergonomics would need to be addressed if made like using / looking at two sides at once being difficult with the floppy effect taking hold.

I think if you're one of the mobile phone generation who has to keep up to date with the latest ones and updates their mobile every few months to a newer iphone then yes, this would be for you. But for someone like myself who keeps phones long term, the gimmicks would lose their appeal very quickly and the clear flaws be quite apparent like they did with most of the 'smart' multimedia type mobile phones.

Not for me really, I'd prefer less instant gratification of little gimmicks and would rather have a phone that always works, never lets me down and has better audio quality during calls which every manufacturer seems to ignore. A cute idea for the throwaway generation.

I am 56 yr old Mom. My boys all have modern phones and that's great. I have a Nokia flip, outdated. I have never cared for anything fancy for myself. I keep these not so hip phones until they literally fall apart then I get another not so fancy phone. This Flip phone has me excited. I am ready to go modern with this phone and no other. I am totally impressed.

James, nice to read your thoughts (though a little dull)… I suggest you review the video with your hearing aid turned up. Listen to the words more carefully and you’ll perhaps understand why this is exciting to the rest of us

This is beautiful design, original and advanced. I love it! Just make it in a 5″ version too for us old folks who like a big screen

Also, the video is unbelievably professional. Better than most pro videos for ‘real’ products I’ve ever seen!

I didn't ask you to read it little boy. Do you realise how silly is it to post a comment just to say that you didn't read something? Maybe I should go into a car showroom and tell them I didn't buy any cars. This is a site mainly for designers, not for trolls or people who can't tell the difference between constructive criticism meant for the designer and someone saying “crap” just for the sake of it. I gave positives as well. Any designer who gets criticism will welcome it as it'll give them ideas and make their designs better. I’m also happy to see Android running this puppy. This could be the next Tablet idea. I love the aluminum frame and the steel mesh, i think the last thing i would worry about is breaking between screens.

A few concerns though:
1) Cost, will three AMOLED screens become prohibitively expensive?
2) Battery, will three AMOLED screens drain the heck out of the battery?
3)Folding, Call me silly, but when im rushing off to class and have to slap my phone shut last minute, how easy is it going to be to get it into “flat” mode?

I like the design – very different to the iphone and similar ones in the marketplace at present. Looks sleek in movement but would be concerned about mechanisms after a year of use. I would purchase one if it comes out.

First, who needs three screens, especially this small? People are already annoyed with short battery life as it is and those would drain that puppy's energy supply in a heartbeat. Absolutely amazing to say the least! I currently have a Android powered HTC EVO and love it. This phone of yours would be my dream phone and I don't see a single fault in it at all.

If this phone cost $600-700, I'd still buy it. but I know it could be done and sold for way less than that.

It would be the iPhone killer for sure!!! Get these renderings over to HTC… If Nokia won't get on it, I am sure HTC could pull
it off!

I'm going crazy over this! Its so amazing, and if it has the power that's in store for all the new Android devices, this is going to be a titan in the mobile technology market. I agree with everyone that's saying you need to get this design into a manufacturer's hands. But it should be not tied to any service, like the Nexus S.

Unfortunately the battery life won't last UNLESS did you guys notice that when she flipped screen the ones on back would go off so she wouldn't flip the page or mess up the other ones on back. If that is correct then it actually would have a decent battery life. I've been trying to talk to Kristian via email and am awaiting reply. If she tells me anything i''ll post it somewhere on a blog and on this blog.
