Its name is Mrs. Hudson. Yes she has a name. The design was inspired by a modified water drop, whatever that means. I’m seeing more smoking pipe tho, but hey, it recently won a Russian bathroom design contest sponsored by Roca so it must be good. I just wonder who Mrs. Hudson is and if she knows a loo was named after her.

I have semi-longish hair and blow dry almost every other day. It’s a known fact blow drying actually distresses and damages hair so doing it sparingly is key, but if you can’t avoid the heat, the Remington Shine Therapy Dryer may just be the ticket to healthier, shinier hair.

We don’t think of urinals as objects of beauty. Even the most beautiful designs from top designers all succumb to this fact – you piss on it. Designer Sun Young Jung thinks she can change how we think of urinals. Her urinal has a flower in it, not a real one but you do piss on it. The flower is supposed to invoke beauty, move you like poetry, and make draining the snake a more enjoyable experience.

Designer Yar Rassadin created these bathroom designs, in a way to pay tribute to the older USSR spaceship Vostok. However, the Vostok bathroom designs are smooth, geometric designs that are modern and stylish. With almost a retro-futuristic feel, Vostok bathroom accessories will surely touch your emotions and awaken your senses. Vostok won 1st place at this years Russian ROCA design competition.

I’m all for the simplest ideas to solve some common problems. Instead of using some toxic glass cleaner to prevent shower steam, why not attach a discarded windshield wiper? It’s not the most elegant solution unless you live in a modern industrial loft. Oh wait! A lot of people live in those and love it too!

I fail at managing laundry. I have way too many clothes. When I am ready to wash, it’s an all day affair dragging heavy baskets to and from the washer/dryer. I’m not saying I’m too busy or lazy. I just want a simpler solution and I think designer Guopeng Liang is on to something with his iBasket concept.

I’m not going to poo-poo my apartment because I actually have a nice bathroom but am no where near sporting a bath, spa, and jacuzzi all in one unit. Have you seen the size of those tubs? They’re HUGE. Designer Dominik Chojnacki must understand my pain because his SPAcer is a movable Spa bath that can fold up against the wall to save floor space. Nevermind that it looks like an Orca turned upside down, Dominik claims the shape was inspired by two rain drops.

Free flowing functionality is what you get with FOLLO a design by Will MacCormac for WMD. An elegant washbasin that can be used both commercially and domestically. FOLLO is the perfect addition to the health conscious hotels, clubs and other establishments. Designed with a slightly curved bowl to reduce splashing, FOLLO also contains a unique and practical drainage system resulting in less standing water creating a cleaner and healthier surface.

We all remember that little home invader/burglar Goldilocks and her serious issues with gauging temperature. “Too hot, too cold….” blah blah blah, shut it you delinquent! Designer Kai Chen has invented a little what’s hot/what’s not meter that takes all the guess work out of getting into your bathtub.

Oh the dread of standing on your bathroom’s weight scale. That anxiety you feel as you step onto a device that most of the time delivers only disappointing news. Well get over the fact that you have been a little self indulgent lately and probably should have avoided having that daily Starbuck’s coffee milkshake with luscious whip cream, rich chocolate shavings and smooth chocolate syrup drizzled over crunchy toffee crumbles.

Do sinks really need a paradigm shift in design? Designer Maja Ganszyniec seems to think so. Check out this Plugless Sink. From the name you should be able to figure out what’s different about it. There’s a reason behind this altruistic design though. Since you have to manually pour the water out into a spillway, you’re consciously aware of how much water you’re using. Great, I’m a total water hog so this sink would definitely make me think twice about leaving the faucet running.

An apple a day does not keep the dentist away. Trust me, I’ve tried and my dentist always finds room to tell me to brush more often. I swear I brush twice a day! Technically you should brush after you eat anything but I’m not walking around with a toothbrush. The Any Brush is all about portable brushing in a convenient disposable package.
