So strong was the response to the virtual racer dubbed “GTbyCITROËN” in the hit Playstation 3 game Gran Turismo 5, that one of France’s oldest auto manufacturers decided to explore the future of design and make the jump to reality. Reminiscent of Mazda’s “Nagare” design movement, this sleek concept features bold design initiatives.

I will right here guarantee you that if cars like this begin to be driven in rallies, rally racing will be the new most popular race on television- nay, the new most popular sport in the world. Hey you! I bet you like going really fast on water huh? Check out the KTM Barracuda – developed for circuit races. It’s the equivalent to the RC8 and the X-Bow on water. The combination of front wing flaps and the vector thrust from the propeller allows for enormous agility and maneuverability. Unlike conventional speedboats, the Barracuda keeps water-contact at all times. The self-stabilizing design doesn’t require special training and has a low learning curve to use.

The H1 ‘Fugu’ by Matt Bassett is a purpose built helicopter targeted at disaster relief. It has been rationalized and rethought to optimize space with a minimal yet flexible package layout, thus allowing maximum efficiency and smaller required landing areas. To put it in perspective, it carries a similar sized load to a Chinook, and is 40 feet shorter, largely due to the coaxial rotor arrangement.

When I think of pipe smoking, I imagine an older generation of men sitting around reading newspapers or conversing about times gone by. Yet with this new and sleek pipe design by Hakan Bogazpinar, I can see a much more hip, younger crowd partaking in its’ pleasures. Eolos is our modern day pipe. With a smooth, almost aerodynamic design, it looks the Ferrari for pipe smokers.

Beema is a inner city trick bike by Andreas Martin that allows you to take on any obstacle that the urban area throws up; chairs, banks, rails or just the street. It fills the gap between FMX, scooter and BMX. Besides the the stunt riding it gives you the possibility to overcome distance inside a city by having two kinds of driving modes, the stunt-riding mode of course, and then the cruise mode that seats you in a more relaxed position.

Conceived after visiting a children’s hospital in Jerusalem, designer Shabtai Hirshberg created the A2B trike so disabled kids could mount and ride by themselves. When a child mounts the trike, stepping on the pedal locks the wheels, enabling the child to literally walk right into a seated position. The chest support keeps the child stabilized, and the whole trike can be customized to each child’s needs.
