Making Your Own Clock

Making Your Own Clock

The Meaning of Time is a brilliant clock concept perfect for all those crafty people out there. It supplies the mechanism to keep time, you supply the hour and minute hands. You can use just about anything as long as it fits thru the holes. I myself am partial to a barrel of monkeys. Perhaps a picture string of ex-lovers or even more sinister ants trapped inside a glass tube.

Timezones and Ticketime

Timezones and Ticketime

Ticketime is a boarding card and a wristwatch all in one. The fringe of the ticket is made of electronic paper that could be torn off and worn as a wristwatch during the period of your travel. Before your departure, the airline company would preset the watch to the time zone of your destination. It is returned to the airline counter during your check-in upon your return flight, whilst still serving the purpose of a flight ticket.

0-60 Seconds in 60 Seconds...

0-60 Seconds in 60 Seconds…

Albert Einstein once said “The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.” Tell that to designer John Pszeniczny, he thinks time could use a turbo boost and has designed the fastest watch on Earth dubbed “F1/Carbon GMT”. Inspired by the F1 race car world and constructed of carbon fiber, Swarovski crystal, rubber and metal, this timepiece has 18 identical rubies and tells the time in everyone of the 18 cities on the 2008 F1 circuit.

Uber Hi-tech And Just For Women Too

Uber Hi-tech And Just For Women Too

The stereotypical hi-tech watch is a very masculine item but the “i/o” concept emphasizes the watch as a fashion accessory for women. It’s designed like a cuff bracelet with a hidden digital clock. Its body features a glossy mirror surface finish that only allows light through from underneath. When not in use it shows just a dot. After touching the dot, the time magically appears! Oooooo!

Real Crystal LED Watch

Real Crystal LED Watch

Inspired by Swarovsky Signity watches, this timepiece by designer Ilya Yakovlev features a surface made from real crystals backlit by LEDs. You can increase the luminosity and change colors to suit your mood. Is it real? In the mind of Yakovlev yes. Is it expensive? I’m gonna hedge my bet and say hell yeah.

Crystal Watch

Inspired by Swarovski’s expertise in crystal and Signity’s brilliance in gems, the Luna Watch is made of crystal, stainless steel and a Spessartite Garnet. To tell time just touch the two contact points and time seems to magically float inside the crystal.

Pixel Perfect Hour Glass

Pixel Perfect Hour Glass

Most of us here in the United States (that are not of the Jurassic age demographic) have but one point of reference when it comes to sand filled hour glasses. For over 40 years, one of the longest running television shows in history opens with a slow camera zoom on an hour glass ticking away your daily wasted hour of mind numbing melodrama.

Arresting Development

Arresting Development

Fetishes are an interesting phenomenon, you never know when something might peak your curiosity and strike you in a gratifying way. Rarely in life does an object instantly make you raise an eyebrow and re-imagine what turns you on, sexually or any other way. Little, if anything is known about this Handcuff watch by Luis Berumen dubbed “ZeroPointZero”, but I believe he has successfully tapped into humanities deep fascination with possession and control.

Eau de Temps

Eau de Temps

“I love the smell of Napalm in the morning…” – Robert Duvall (Apocalypse Now). Though I question anyone’s sanity that might actually mean those very words, it does speak of the fundamental truth that a particular scent has the power to instantly transform our moods.

Hey, wanna get in on all that flexible LED goodness going around these days, but hesitant because you’re fashion conscience? How about a Gucci bracelet watch with a sliding door revealing a glass LED display? Just a concept for now but you never know. . . someday.

Time Inverted

A clock, as we know it keeps us on track. It helps us to stay focused and accomplish tasks before deadlines. Clocks also help us to get to where we need to go and see how far we have gone. Therefore, clocks are essential to us. Jason Linde has designed a clock that is different than the average clocks we have in our home.
