A Watch for Automotive Enthusiasts
Shift Hybrid is a watch based on automotive engineering featuring elements like disc brakes, speedometers, seat belts, and gear shifts. The materials used are also found in cars. Parts like aluminium, carbon fibre, stainless steel, rubber, and glass. Take a look after the jump and see if you can spot all the automotive influences.
The design utilizes both analog and digital parts. All the gears, rotors and needles are analog but they are controlled digitally to precisely keep time right down to the millisecond. Quite impressive.

I really like it. Except for the digital screen and the strap. Well, I l,ke my watches all mechanical, and the strap looks not a bold enough design as the rest of the watch.

I like everything about it. I wish there were better pics of what looks like vents on the side.

you are a loon.. the digital screen is slick (like a modern car dashboard) , and the strap is nice and simple, which highlights the time piece.

Saw it on Gizmodo. Beautiful watch, would buy it in a heartbeat as long as the price isn't to absurd. Assuming it actually gets made, of course.

COMPLETELY AWESOME….PERFECT FOR A TRUE MOTORSPORT ENTHUSIAST!!

While it's far too gizmo-techno-attention-grabbing for me, I must admit I find it quite beautiful. I hope they'll manage to produce it, because while I'll never wear one, I wouldn't mind seeing one
digivid says
The car-enthusiast side of me really like this, but how am I supposed to read that tiny date display?
Almightywhacko says
Cool design. I would wear that.
But I feel the need to point out that the "materials found in cars" are pretty much the same materials found in most watches already.
Aluminum, steel, glass, leather, carbon fiber and rubber are already used quite extensively in the manufacture of watches.

As renders go, this has a particularly timeless quality about it…

This watch is pretty kick a$$ but, shouldn't a watch like this have a sapphire face, not glass? Pretty much the standard for high end watches…

LMFAO… 8 Gs?
I can get a Rolex, Omega, Tag Heuer, Tudor or other high end watches for less.
This is rediculous.
There is NO reason this can’t be released as a mid range watch like Invictas, Renatos, or Movados. :-/
lame.

MAKE THIS! This should be pursued, it would be a great seller assuming it’s not too expensive, but it looks like it will get up there in price though.
