Sticky Phone
The concept behind the Sticker Phone is quite simple; most of us tend to place our mobile phone near windows for better signal reception. So this concept takes it a step further by adding a solar panel to the back of the phone and giving it a slight arch so that it can stick (via suction) to the window glass for some sunshine. The phone is made with polysiloxane (silicone) and can be made feasible if some tries it.

I like the idea Liu, my problem with it is that it doesn’t come with a camera or texting pad, these features are critical to desireability and it is not “cool” looking (no green please). It should be a hybrid solar/battery phone which would allow the features most everyone requires. Good luck.

I think it’s a great idea!
And I don’t think that the phone not having a camera it’s gonna make it less desirable. We are always trying to add more stuff to everything, creating necessities in every object instead of fulfilling them. Besides it´s a concept.
I like it!!

Pretty interesting, not sure how I feel about the design; looks pretty outdated or like one of my vtech phones I had in middle school. It is a good thought, not sure how successful it would really end up being.

why? these micro-concepts are really cute as ideas, but to be honest… out of all the solarpanel, winding-up and shaking-up electrical gadgets and devices – how many is actually being used by micro consumers?
if we, designers and others, really want to make a “change” then we should start demanding our governments to start making the macro electricity more eco friendly, as well as start pushing the big companies to stop producing things which unnecessary sucks more electricity then it should or pollutes through petrol…
my opinion.. as for the design itself, its pretty outdated, yes, but I am guessing that the reason for it is because of the “size” the solar panel on the back needs. It could have been made alittle bit more up-to-date or futuristic, since that technology its using definitly is not going to be implemented in less then 2-3 years in to the industry.

I think we should not depend on the government but think how we could be depended by the community.

Suction requires circles, especially without an air valve or pump. Hence the term “suction cup”. This concept seems way to heavy to support itself on a window.
Aso, “digital ink” is the name of a web design firm and a handwriting recognition technology, not a passive screen technology.

An interesting and unique design. It kind of reminds me of the Hop On phone that was supposed to be produced a few years back. Unfortunately that phone, along with this one, will probably never make it as far as the assembly line.
