Little did Jobs know how much a simple material choice for a smartphone would spawn an entire era of metallurgy, perhaps comparable to the Bronze Age. Aluminum, the most abundant metal on Earth, can be found practically everywhere. It’s used in furniture, in construction, in food-packaging, and in consumer electronics, arguably by the tonne. Deskape’s hope is to seamlessly complement the use of aluminum in consumer electronics, by creating a series of incredibly classy and minimalist desk organizers, designed to uplift the workspace, and unite it in the appreciation of Aluminum.
Designed as a set (but also available individually exclusively for Kickstarter backers), the Deskape series comprises a cable organizer, pen-stand, card-holder, and a paperweight tray. Designed with a minimal aesthetic, featuring simple cross-sections that make the products look like they’ve been extruded in their shape, each product serves two purposes. One, the purpose given to it, i.e., being a pen-stand, or organizing your charging cables and wires, and Two, matching the metallic appeal of your workspace, with your laptop, external keyboard, trackpad, etc. Deskape’s products are all about bringing both functionality and elegance to your work-area, with the added flair of being so exquisite looking that people are sure to take a second and third look… quite like the way Jobs had anticipated people would react looking at his aluminum-made, sleek, perfection-chasing Apple products!
