Radio Ga Ga

Flexio is this really awesome radio that’s solar powered and portable. I’m willing to overlook the “only one fixed FM channel” stand for the cute little paper packaging it comes in. I’m sure the dynamics of manufacturing this are going to be reasonable, because one can even use it for promotions and gifts…like ask someone to advertise on its package. The innovative factor comes from the flexible speaker & flexible solar cell. It’s designed to be used within the station-waves range, but could be modified to receive internet radio via WiFi or WiMax.

Who manufactures this product? I will like the designer’s details. Just googling Flexio, come up with more articles about it but no one says where you can get one.

I love the idea but several things come to mind. Is it waterproof? Do we have to buy a box of different stations or can you pick what you want to order? etc.

Of course it’s totally awesome and i would definitely buy one.

One of these for £5, with really decent reception, tuned to something like Kerrang (do they have a radio station?) and I’d buy it, maybe 2 or 3 if there are similar stations.

I only listen to AM radio. All FM radio has to offer is music and I don’t need radio for that. AM radio is still the only place for news and talk where I live. I don’t see the fascination with FM radio as a stand alone device or attached to an mp3 player. I’d be excited if it was an AM radio.

  • only one fixed station is a dealbreaker, no matter how cool it looks

if you look at it as an advertising tool for radio stations to give away in contests, free give aways for publicity events on location broadcasting, sell advertising space on one side, or have available as a purchase off the radio station web site, then yes that is a money making idea.
Stations can make money by creating limited collections, stations could advertise with local sports teams, Sports enthusiasts usually have a radio listening to the play by play. Those could be sold at events and money collected be split for covering costs and some money could go to local charities. instead of a speaker, how about an ear bud for sporting location use?

    Hello,
We are working on a new concept store and would you like to know where and how buy it.
    URGENT.

  • Dick says:

    You can’t, it vaporware.

Nice clean design, but wasteful concept.

    Where can I buy this?

  • I don’t see the point. I mean, why would you want only one station? Seems rather pointless, because limiting the package to only one station doesn’t cut back that much on electronics.

On the other hand, integrating a simple button or two into the envelope could allow it to change stations and retain its sleek look.

  • WE ARE VERY INTERESTED IN TO BUY A BULK ORDER OF FLEXIO RADIO
    KINDS REGARDS
