Beauty is skin deep, Geekness is to the core…

Fashion and technology have been dancing with each other for years now. Sadly, it’s not been the kind of dancing you see in movies where everyone seems to know when to pop-n-lock and bust out the serious Justin Timberlake moves, that eventually ends in a triumphant “tada!” with hands lifted in the air. No, sadly this dance looks more like Paris Hilton biting her toe nails while opening a jar of pickles with her iPhone. It makes no sense and is just wrong! Which brings me to this latest WTF moment by designer Erik De Nijs, Erik has stitched together this eye catching pair of “Beauty and the Geek” jeans. These “modern shaped trousers which is often worn by youngsters..” are the perfect solution for Googling quick exits while running from the fashion police. Ah, but look closely! Now as you jump over fences and dodge barking dogs, you can take your chase music with you. Built into the knees are a pair of crotch rocking speakers that really add that extra level of excitement while sticking it to the man. Around back you have the added convenience of a back pocket for your “mouse”(which will be your only friend at this point). And for you gamers, there is even a joystick controller located just behind the front zipper. Looking at the key arrangement I am oddly compelled to want to write “poop” over and over again.

It needs to be a split keyboard so the crotch isn’t so restrictive. Bluetooth? Then it could be used with cell phones :) Other than that this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen.

Unbelievably geeky, pretty eye-catching… hell, I’d wear them! Probably wouldn’t use them as intended but I actually like the look of the black ones. Plus you get great “here, just type your in your number” chatup lines!

What’s about a pic of the joystick - or is it x-rated? *lol*
The trousers are planned for girls too with the joystick at the same place?

Well… invented the keyboard on your pants, so what´s next?
A Jacked filled with USB slots? like 400 of them?
Sunglasses widescreen?
Earrings stereo?

Anyway, its the first step to try something you would use at home(yet)

You have got to be kidding. Machine washable? what happens if it rains? Joystick behind the zipper? That’s where my joystick always is and I always get a high score!!

think about the angle looking down at the crotch then the angle looking up at the screen. this would not be comfortable. wearable technology is so hard to perfect. Philips failed with its wearable mp3 jacket. I suppose this might work if you want to walk about looking like an idiot.

perhaps you could put dual screens on the tops of your shoes too and have a hard drive hat. you know complete the look.

You already have to take shoes off to go through airport security. Are you going to have to take off your pants too?

Could you split the keyboard so it’s inside each pocket. It would certainly make taking notes during those boring meetings more enjoyable. I’d be typing at about 200 WPM… well it would look like i was typing 200 WPM

Erik De Nijs. Does this guy actually exist? There seem to be no records of him available through any Internet search engine, other than these pants.

Not that it matters a lot, but I’d like to know who did the mock-up and
the photograph.

oh And Erik does actually exist,
but we’re still students,
