A Little More Bottom

So here’s a laptop concept called “Float Away” that addresses one of the most bothersome aspects of mobile computing - heat. Designer Young Hwan Kim has a simple solution for it. Elevate the back end by integrating a lift bar into the design. Now heat can dissipate into the air keeping your laptop cool and possibly extending its life.

Or, you could just get a nice 12 cell battery to do the same thing for you while providing twice as much power:

The designer forgot to add the fact that the typing angle will likely be more comfortable, and reduce injury (which is BS anyway, but some people care). Whatever, marketing would eat it up.

I had an IBM Thinkpad in the mid 90s that had this same basic concept. It had little “feet” that could deploy and raise the back end of the machine.
