VaseMaker by Ron Gilad

VaseMaker by Ron Gilad

VaseMaker dissects the classic vase into its two functional elements; support for the flower and a container for the water that sustains it. VaseMaker is designed and redesigned each time it is placed upon a vessel. A dialog is created between the iconic shape of the VaseMaker and the form of any ready-made vessel that is placed underneath it.

Chairman - Suspended Chair by Marijn Van Der Poll

Chairman – Suspended Chair by Marijn Van Der Poll

Peter is a enthusiastic tennis player on weekends. He’s a family man and fires up a grill like no other. But Monday to Friday from 9 to 5 he sits down and becomes CHAIRMAN! The inspiration for this project came from comic book heroes. I figured I’d try and give today’s CEO the ultimate corporate seating object wi th special powers. The chair can be moved by turning a switch, which lifts the chair and keeps it suspended above the floor by a thin layer of air.

Serving coffee after dinner or during a social gathering has most of the times a formal character. Veil is style, formal aesthetics, and elegance translated into sober and fashion ceramic objects. Small and concise illustrative motives of vintage patterns have been applied so that combined with the modern design of the pieces, makes them fit to be used in any social situation. This service has coffee cup/plate, sugar bowl and a milk recipient.

X-crib - Barbed Wire Baby Crib by John Greg Ball

X-crib – Barbed Wire Baby Crib by John Greg Ball

Inspired by the many man-made boundaries that limit and restrain us in life, x-crib takes a humorous approach to confining and protecting our children from harm. Taking visual cues from livestock, and barbed wire fences, the x-shaped motif visually encourages our young to stay in the crib. Using sex-neutral colors, the design is intended for girls and boys.

Fill In The Cat by Nel Studio

Fill In The Cat by Nel Studio

Three characters disappear from large, solid white blocks, and their absence suddenly makes them important. The resulting emptiness is filled with the user’s belongings and through this action the silhouettes’ meaning shifts. The pieces suggest a continuous play between interaction and representation, where daily use generates a continuously changing story: a cat that reads Italo Calvino, a book filled with coins, a living room where birds come to eat the cake’s crumbles

Straight & Upright Chair by Claude Mutschler

Straight & Upright Chair by Claude Mutschler

This chair gives a new idea of sitting: straight and upright when dining relaxed and soft while having a conversation with friends. The simple and useful technology adapts to all sitting positions and offers the comfort of a cantilever chair. Two separate metal clips follow the movements of the sitter forward while dining or writing, backward when relaxing, i.e. only by the shifting of weight the chair adapts to the desired position.

TTTisch - Hangable Table by Isabel Quiroga

TTTisch – Hangable Table by Isabel Quiroga

A table with three folding legs and a silkscreen on its surface, which gives the illusion of a tablecloth. When it is not being used, the table legs can be folded right away. A hole on the underside makes it possible to hang the table on a wall. A table that metamorphoses into a picture on the wall.

Poly Chair - Handmade Furniture by Max Lamb

Poly Chair – Handmade Furniture by Max Lamb

A process of destruction is used to construct a bombproof chair. Handmade furniture is by its very nature unique. The Poly Chair take less than 30 minutes to carve in expanded polystyrene and the soft tactile rubber coating take only 10 minutes to apply. The chair illustrates the beauty of speed and spontaneity.

M. Liminal Piano Inspired by Music & Sea

M. Liminal Piano Inspired by Music & Sea

The design relives tradition, modernizing the classic piano. The instrument is inserted in a strip of wood and rests on a metal base, soundproofed thanks to sound deadening paint. The base is aligned with the barycentre of the instrument which houses the pedals. The red of the soundboard, the black of the cast iron frame and the transparency of the Plexiglas music stand assert the medley of classic and modern styles.
