Why Don’t We Have Iron Boards Like This!
E-Board is super classy and I love it! The ironing board has five components that adhere and adapt to the garment that you are ironing. A controlling green knob allows you to split the board up for easy ironing of pants and wings out the sides for sleeves. Skirts, coats, trousers, shirts or any other thang, basically the board makes the mundane chore of ironing a whole lot easy. Clever integration of a hanger-stand and iron-stand, adds to the perks. Love!
E-Board is a 2012 iF Design Talents entry.

So is this on the market yet? This is great! When, where? How much? I might actually iron some clothes!

this is so practical! why arent companies manufacturing this right now!!!

I just wanted to ask one quick question. As trousers have the crease down the front of the trouser leg and not down the side, how would one in fact be able to use this to iron them properly? I guess a pair of jeans that won’t have a crease would be fine, but what about normal trousers?
Raph says
This would make a nice Kickstarter project (hint, hint)
Adrian says
The design is seriously flawed. As someone who irons 12 hours a day, I can press a gents shirt in around 2 minutes, and a pair of trousers, with centre crease in about 55 seconds.
I guess that even with practice a shirt would take a minute to get into place, the job could be half done then.
I think a low cost fold away ironing table with boiler and vacuum bed would be a much better option for most people.
Mohsen Jafari Malek says
Dear Adrian: First of all thank you for your comment, but I think there is very important different between you and other users may use this product (if it’s exist at all!) You are a professional! you said you iron clothes 12 hours a day! and maybe irons clothes on big flat surface build for this action. but normal people (like me) iron clothes two or three time a week! in this case I think my design work! because the normal ironing surface that could everyone find in the store aren’t very well and big! finally I can say I don’t design this board for professional users or heavy duty process! I’m sure you’re professional on ironing! but it’s for Rookies!
Al says
Nice concept! things to ponder. With so many joints and the main joint from the board the the base is towards one side, i am guessing this board might not last maybe 30 pressing. I also kinda still figuring out how are u ‘wearing’ your shirt on the board with the sleeve flaps that is rigid. To me it seems like making 2 holes for 2 different size cats. Just a thought.
In addition, Adrian is also looking at another point of view, if i need twice the extra time to fit my clothes on the board, i am wasting time, energy is also wasted from the iron on standby.
Overall, loved the central axis board for flipping. try to think thru the stability of the ironing board.
Cheers!

A cool concept! Unfortunately it increases the number of steps to iron a piece of clothing, which may deter users.

This is actually really neat. Hoping that the movable parts can take the pressure.

My wife and I like it! Where to buy it and What is the retail price?
Fadylynn says
Very nice idea, my only concern is with so many moving parts, is the quality good for lasting in a normal household with ironing 2/3 days x week? Where is it available for purchasing? What is the price?
CT says
Very interesting concept. I would say one reason companies haven’t manufactured this yet is because fewer and fewer people iron these days. Our company specializes in laundry inventions, and while we get all sorts of questions from customers, nobody ever asks about ironing.
Mohsen Jafari Malek says
Thank CT, but if it’s so, why many famous companies all around the world try to produce new iron models every year?

I found this on Pinterest. I tracked it back to here. I love the board!!! I am one who would love this board. I only iron 1x or 2x a week. I am also short limbed, so having to stop and adjust the clothing to put it back on the board is tiresome. I appreciate the fact I can put the clothing on the board and it stays where I need it to stay.
Is the board Height adjustable as well?
I have read all the comments, but don’t see anything about WHEN and WHERE it is going to be marketed. That seems to be the only question that is NOT being answered.
In the mean time, excellent concept. Looking very forward to seeing it on the market. I hope it is affordable, and people don’t go all over pricey dyson style on this.
Mohsen Jafari Malek says
Dear Viki,
Nice comment, thank you for your words. I just solved one of my everyday problems as a designer! I love too see this product on market TOO!! But I don’t know how it could be possible. I love to cooperate with some manufacture to produce this board, but how? I don’t know yet!
BRy says
It is a very nice concept. However the main thing here is versatility for the masses. If everyone wore the same size clothes then this would have been done a long time ago. For example if this worked fine for a “small” shirt then to iron a “Large” shirt would be difficult as trying to adjust the fabric from left to right would be near impossible since it would be limited by thesleeve boards them selvesand the middle would be dificult if you spread the middle since there would be no board there (would need a leaf insert to the middle) Alas, you could get the same thing from to removable sleeve boards and a standard ironing board and have more versatility.

I find your idea genius. For ages nobody cared, but now we don’t have time to learn to do everything. This can get our life less complicated
I would just suggest that you add the possbility to adjust from a small piece of clothes to a bigger (like from s to xl) – this would make possible to easily adapt the whole family clothing.
I want one badly
Best luck getting it produced.
Best regards,
Tiago

Hye Mohsen. I’m very interested with this ironing board and probably want to use your product in my assignment. May I know the process on making this ironing board?
Larry says
Mohsen, beware of this so called assignement! They may be trying to steal your work!!!
If they was only for a school project, all they would need is the public pictures/data.
Beware of scams.
na says
Larry.. I’m sorry but I really don’t have any intention to steal his work. I’m really in an assignment for entrepreneurship. I’ve search in the internet regarding the manufacture process for making ironing board but I couldn’t find any or i might not good in searching for information. Its okay if i don’t get the process for making this e-board but perhaps i can get basic information for a normal or basic process to make it? or maybe u could link to me some website or manufacture that process information there.. really in help..
JD says
Hi Mohsen,
When one sees a wonderful design, you know it right away. This IS a wonderful design concept.
If you carry this design to production, consider issues with proper balance and safety. (ie: front to back, side to side etc…).
The other thought (wish)would be to have adjustable width arm sections so you can get more flat surface (without having to roll the sleeves).
Whatever path you choose for this idea, make sure it gets out into the stores. I imagine that you will have a difficult time keeping them stocked.
