Nice idea, I wonder how durable and flexible the solar panels are.
There must be quite a bit of stress on the strap with a tele zoom lens on a camera.

Brilliant stuff! Hopefully we’ll see it in shops soon.

But do camera companies let you charge a battery through a cable while it’s still IN the camera or does it have to be removed and placed in a charger? This is what will determine success of the product. Maybe if you carried two batteries and one was attached to a charger on the strap itself…

Not bad. Im not sure if you could use it to charge the camera batteries directly while in use though. It would still be great as a backup charger or source for smaller devices though.

Love it. IT’s an eco product that is actually genuinely useful. My camera is always running out of batteries, and yes I could carry spares, but in reality I don’t bother, so this is great.

This blog got popular pretty quick! My SLR batts dont run out and I always have spares but I can see the potential in this.

Where and when can i buy it?

You can’t charge a dslr with a cable like small pocket camera’s. You can only remove the batteries and then charge it.

Cool idea but i thinkn it would just be easier to leave in on charge connected to a solar panel before use. Although this would have some great uses

This is probably the best idea for cameras/cellphones/mp3s and etc. I agree, maybe put solar panels on a camera bag so more rays to convert in to power. Other than that I see this for sale in no time. Great job

When you think of it, it kinda makes sense doesn't it?! Dunno if it works however, but this is exactly the mindset that Weng Jie had in mind I think.

As someone who is always outdoors and taking pictures of nature quite often, I think this is a great thing for me! I am definitely going to have to get my hands on it. My current camera eats my batteries right up so I am very interested in potential applications of the camera strap. Now, I'm wondering what other uses I have for solar panels!!
