So you’ve got an aparthotel (apartment/hotel) somewhere and you want to add a poolside bar between the ol’ water hole and the road. But there’s only a small strip! What do you do? You use the ENTIRE SPACE and not only make a bar, but a bar and lounge, and not just for the aparthotel, but for the entire public.
And make it hecka sleek.

Today’s subject is the WiiThink. One WiiVisor later and you’ve got a game controller for the elderly!

I’m not so updated with the green business, but I’m sure folks who have an active green thumb understand the nuances of “Re-potting a Plant” and the burden that comes with proper transfer of plants from one pot to the other. Re-flowerpot looks at doing away with the heartbreak of losing a sapling due to its incorrect transfer. The pot simply breaks-up into two parts, kinda like a mold for your soil and plant. Happy Re-potting to you!

While working in the cargo bay for moving and shifting heavy loads with cranes, two things really bother the crew, one is their safety and the other is accurate transfer of the load. Addressing both these issues is the Safeguard Device. It’s a contraption that attaches to the crane (as illustrated in the images). From it’s height above, the device beams a laser graphic to the floor below, clearly marking the danger zone for the crew to avoid. The infrared helps in assisting the accurate transfer of the cargo from point A to B, thus eliminating the help of the ground crew.

Two objects, both inspired by the famous car studio Pininfarina. Aerodynamical forms, fast and sporty. These lovelies come in two colors: fresh green (color of a life,) and scarlet (a traditional racing color.) Surfaces similar to racing auto varnish, nice to use, nice to race (if you’re into racing sinks, that is.)

So you’ve gotta put drops in your eyes, yes? Perhaps you’ve got contact lenses or maybe you’re struggling with an eye infection. Your eyes are dry and you gotta get them wet. But for one reason or another, the way you’re doing it just isn’t cutting it! For that, there’s the “Pocket Eye.” This lovely card-sized eyedropper holds a cartridge, a container that holds one drop, an air sack, and a cap!

Electric polarization in a substance resulting from the application of mechanical stress – that’s what Piezoelectricity is. It’s used in these: Eco-Enegry Flooring System pads that use the pressure applied by people walking, running, rolling over to squeeze piezoelectric blocks. Upon squeezing, energy is generated and stored on a paper battery system. Then, THEN, the energy is used for, what else? LED lights!

With all the energy you expend while jumping rope, imagine using some to power a handy torchlight fitted within the skipping rope handles. Torchlight in any form is a good idea, but the cool quotient in this Jump Light comes from the fact that you won’t need any batteries to power the bulb. It simply runs by converting the kinetic energy from your jumps to electric energy. Now if that isn’t motivational enough for you to skip just a bit more!

Alert the airplane police! They’re about to have a whole lot of confused airport burglars on their hands. This project by Shing Lo’s got the “Design Out Crime” tagline attached to it. Why? Because it’s a one-luggage thief deterrent, that’s why. It’s got a honeycomb interior. Locks. A passive alarm system. An active alarm system (that you can set off.)
And it looks so fashionable!

Back in May last year I did a roundup of the Most Unconventional Umbrellas seen here on YD. I wish I had stumbled across the Air Umbrella then, because it’s the mother of unconventional designs! Imagine an umbrella with no canopy! The barrier between you and the raindrops is a sheet of steady air that is blown out by this hollow pipe. Physics and a lot of engineering stuff is clogging my brains to accept this design, but if I put these dark clouds of doubt out of the way, we may have something in this concept. Think about it!

These are some tripped out appliances. This product set right here is called “Spot.” It’s full title is “Spot – Appliance Design for All.” Why? Because it’s designed for people who’re confined to wheelchairs or (I’d imagine) just short in stature. Three appliances, a fridge, a dishwasher, and an oven, for the supreme ease of use for all. (Post preview for everyone: I vote fridge for winner, how about you?)

You know it happens sometimes. Someone gets a remote like in those sci-fi movies or Adam Sandler walks by and boom, you can’t hear a thing! It’s crap! So what do you do? You get ahold of Dan Carrillo. That guy will hook you up with a combo that cannot be beat for the sound-impared. The “Emmerse” system uses glasses, a wristband, and an itsy-bitsy clampable keyboard.
