Phone That Shames The Weather Bureau
I don’t know about your city, but the weather bureau of my hometown is often sniggered at, for their in-accurate predictions. When they say it will rain (like they predicted a couple of days ago) you can be sure it will be bright and sunny. I would like to gift them this “Window Phone”, that makes accurate predictions and even changes its display to reflect the climatic conditions outdoors. Maybe I should keep the phone for myself and bug the bureau with my updates.

You know I’m glad this is here, I was waiting for someone to do this exact design (although I’ve seen kinda similar before), no kudos however, because its so obvious. You realise this is the pinnacle and the end of phone design. Phone design if ever reaches this far can only go this far. Its a simple, clean, minimalist design and currently (and most likely in future) impossible.
So, all the dreamers making glass/flexible transparent or similar (impossible) phones can stop now because they will live in the shadow of this.
You can’t better it – this closes the door on futuristic concept phones.
So how about we focus our talents on feasible phone designs from now on huh?!

Wow Confucius, isn’t this site all about cool futuristic gadgets??? I think that it is very possible that they come up with a way to make a flexible plexiglass designed phone – I mean look at the old cell phones that were a foot and a half long – and the new iPhone! I mean, technology just keeps moving along – evidently without you. Oh well, too bad for you!

There’s a difference between cool, futuristic, feasible gadgets and cool, futuristic, non-feasible ideas. Yes of course technology will keep moving along but being futuristic doesn’t mean you can just go wild. There is a need to relate future concepts with current technology so that people will know which direction to progress. If you don’t relate anything, people are more likely to push you aside and classify you as being purely conceptual and not bother a bit.

You have completely missed the point. Perhaps you should read my post again when your not so drunk. I’m not saying its impossible, reading along, you will see I have stated that this is the end of the line for phone design. Products have a lifespan too and yes they started out with the brick and will end with this, or similar concept.
My point is that it cannot get better than this, if you think it can please enlighten me

you know there was a point where the horse and carriage probably seemed like the pinnacle of transport design … then the steam powered locomotive came along, now
as for not giving kudos, you’re an idiot. elegant design ALWAYS seems obvious once it’s BEEN designed. that’s usually what determines whether or not it’s successful.
besides which, this is just a concept, whoever designs the first consumer model of this, THEN markets it successfully enough to become the Hoover(tm) of transparent phones, will be the winner.

No, they won’t. The person who designs a phone like this will get sued into oblivion for infringing on this design. Such is the current patent laws.

yeah but guess what? its basically imposible with the technology we have now. unless they make see-through wires and speakers and batteries and memory chips its not feasible. But it is cool if it was possible.

This gadget might be able to run off of biothermal heat and motion to capture energy, and store memory in a strip around the edge of the device. If they can do that, holy cow. This thing would be sexy AND extremely functional.

no battrey, no cables? this is a dream phone ryt? it is impossible to make, i dnt believe in impossible, so ur best bet is adding a second part of the phone kept in ur pocket or 5m maximum away ffrom the phone ,which handles battrey and thinking, therefore the main glass window part will only be a reciever n sender

Firstly I would like to say stunning design. Love the concept. I would really love to see this in my if not anybody’s hand in my lifetime, but I think it will be more likely that augmented reality communication options that can emulate interactive displays via wearable glasses will be ubiquitous by the time any of the physical tech for such a portable device is invented. Of course there are a large percentage of the population that feel their need to show off their personality via the particular device they own, but over time augmented solutions will win out due to the comparably low cost over time and instant upgrade options that they offer. Augmented systems are far more compatible at delivering revolutionary user interface design that will literally be able to surround the user, if they desire it to do so.
Just my 2 cents.

Total joygasm over the idea. I would like to see more of the minimalism employed in the notifications. For example, instead of a yellow star/splat, something more akin to the horizontal color bars at the top-left area of the phone. Simplicity, consistency, continuity, functionality. Work it baby.
