A longtime lover of Leica cameras, designer Victor Cinq-Mars set out to suggest something all new for the lux brand: a mirror-less medium format camera. Currently offered by competitor Hasselblad X1D, it would be an all new offering for Leica.
Taking design cues from the Q and SL (especially the SL), the proposed iteration is pictured here as the Leica S3. A modern take on the medium format, it offers up an all-digital solution with the removal of the single lens reflective element. Utilizing Leica’s S-mount system, it still feels familiar and not too far of a stretch for the brand.
