The Human Signal

There are times when rescue workers and policemen have to work in darkness or low-light conditions. To make themselves visible and even to the extent of working as a human traffic signal, we have here the Tex-vest concept. The jersey is equipped with LEDs in green, red and yellow, depicting the traffic signal colors. Using specific hand movements the arrows and colors can be manipulated. I like the fact that it is interactive, viable and can help police officers regulate traffic.

Tex-vest is a joint research project between the Berlin Weißensee School of Art (KHB) and the Textile Research Institute Thuringia-Vogtland e.V. (TITV)
