Learning Tool for Deaf Children
The VV-Talker is a device designed for deaf children to help them overcome their problem in speaking effectively. If you can’t hear the sounds you make, it’s difficult to know if you’re pronouncing it correctly. The device has a screen attached to a wand. Sounds are associated with vibrations. As the child speaks, the device provides feedback on accuracy and teaches the child to speak with the correct “vocal vibrations” to achieve the correct modulation. Brills!

This is a great invention but it has the possibility of so much more.
If a foreign language was programmed into it it would be incredibly useful. Especially in language where inflection, tone and enunciation is important.

Deaf people are deaf and unless they recently became deaf they don’t care about and don’t need to speak

@the man: Deaf people are deaf and don’t know how to communicate with people who don’t know sign language. Believe me, they will care.

As a parent to a hearing impaired child who is neither deaf nor fully part of the hearing world, the ability to learn to correctly enunciate words is huge. She will have to be able to function in the hearing world making the need for her to be able to speak as clearly as possible critically important.
Anyone know if this is in production and if so, where this gadget can be bought?
