Cutie Little Booties!

This is the senior thesis of Industrial Design major Chris Padilla. Chris goes to school at Virginia Tech, and he’s interested in the shoes of little people. Toddlers! The project aims to “promote natural, healthy foot development for toddlers learning how to walk.” The inside is a super minimal inner bootie house-shoe “for safe, “barefoot” walking. The inside is hard as dragon scales.

Hard! Maybe not dragon scales, but weather-ready, if you know what I do mean. The aesthetics are funny, too. Look at that turtle! See the pictures for further insight into the tiniest kicks.

P.S. this project is not officially affiliated with any brand or organization besides Chris Padilla himself… so far.

The Ninja Turtles booties remind me more of Buzz Lightyear.

How could it be “hard as dragon scales” and still be called “barefoot”?

If the idea is to protect the feet of young children, I’d sooner just put the feet in soft, elastic socks with rubber soles.

lol and we all know how hard dragon scales are right?! haha just like i know the spline of the pheonix can cure cancer.

Ever read folklore or fantasy, smartass? If the claim is that it’s as hard as dragon scales, obviously nobody is suggesting dragons are real. The implication is that it’s tough and stiff. When it comes to shoes, that’s not a good thing.

      witty comment no.2:
but the dragons i see at the human society all have fur?! what gives?

      witty comment no.3:
don’t know about dragons, but ogres have tough skin as well, maybe we you should use those instead, cause we all know dragons are going extinct and ogres are just plain ugly.

        It’s only witty if:
        a) You don’t need to highlight that you think it’s witty.
        b) You have at least a 6th grade grasp of spelling, grammar, and vocabulary.
        c) You don’t keep beating the dead horse in a lame attempt to be funny.

You fail on all three counts. Better luck next time.

Yea, not sure why “hard as dragon scales” is in there…you have the minimal inner slippersock for the house, and then the simple over-shoe with a rubber sole that goes over that for the outdoors…

  • amazing croquis,
    hight quality,
    the prox. future.
