The Most Eco-Friendly Bottled Water

With a title like that, I bet some of you just rolled your eyes, but hear me out. Treeson is an eco-friendly, toxin-free, trash eliminating, clean energy making, tree planting, best tasting, purest natural spring water ever. Designer Carlton Solle figured out the current recycling system is flawed so he came up with a new system that produces/recycles the bottles, fills them with spring water, and ships them out. Each bottle comes with a built-in return label so it ends right back at the source. AND a tree is planted for every bottle sold. Cradle to Cradle?

$50 for a 6 pack of water. This is seriously, not even joking, the dumbest idea I’ve seen. It involves MAILING BACK the empty plastic bottle. It’s like nobody at the company understands economics. Just using reusable bottles for your water, and directly donating money to buy up amazonian rainforest would be 1,000X better than this.

  • Eddd222 says:

And how much energy does it take to produce the bottle and to mail it back. Probably a bit more then the bottle generates when it is being “gassed”.

Why not make durable and reusable bottles that can be collected at a central location that you frequenty visit, like a supermarket. To make sure people actually bring them back, you could create a deposit system where people get part of the purchase price back when they return the empty bottle. Wait, this sounds a bit familiar.

  • Eddd222 says:

Additionally, if these bottles would have to be mailed, why mail them in their original shape. The mail system would mainly be transporting air. Why not compress them into the smallest shape possible and send a bunch of them in a bag at ones.

Wait, why am I defending the idea of mailing water bottles?

  • Reavenk says:

Concept is good. Not the product name I would have chosen though; Is it like we’re supposed to be betraying the sovereignty of big-business pollution?

  • Long Tran says:

According to the designer, the bottle is shaped like a leaf so it compresses flat for mailing.

  • nic says:

being extremely THIRSTY is more eco-friendly than this silly idea ^^

Right here is the right site for everyone who would like to
understand this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you
(not that I personally would want to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a subject that’s been written about for years.

    Excellent stuff, just excellent!
