The iEveryting Stand

The iEveryting Stand

iMac – check; iPhone – check; iPad – check; iPod – check; looks like anything prefixed with an “i” has found its way to my desk and to organize them is thePolyply. Technically Andrew Kim should be calling it the iPoly, but never mind! The stand holds iEverything in a manner that makes it easy to charge and orient as secondary (and subsequent) displays. I love the way the keyboard can be teamed up with the iPad in the forefront and the iMac in the background.

Post-it Get's a New Dimension

Post-it Get’s a New Dimension

With the million things on my to-do list I need handy Post-it reminders everywhere. I even use digital Post-it notes on my phone because I’m a scatterbrain! I like Dongyeon Kim’s idea of a Post-it printer with re-usable sticky notepaper. Sync it with the phone or computer and get notes printed in a jiffy!

Blood Pressure Bracelet

Blood Pressure Bracelet

Tensio is an electronic blood pressure reading bracelet designed to keep tabs on your vital signs without appearing to be an medic-alert device. The core is cushioned with inflatable foam to take the reading and results appear on a display or through a tactile, braille surface. In case of emergencies, Tensio can wirelessly call for help.

Woven Lamp

Woven Lamp

The AURA is a series of woven lamps designed to reinforce the warmth of light with texture. The wafer, saucer shape speaks to modernity without diluting the design. Anything woven usually feels “crafty” but the AURA feels almost alien origin. They’re hand-made in France with loads of attention to detail – the couture of lighting.

Chopstick Training Wheels

Chopstick Training Wheels

Using chopsticks requires a kind of dexterous finesse that can take months to master so if your hands are about as coordinated as two left feet, check out the Gori. It’s a gorgeously designed napkin ring that just so happens to function as a spring and tension point when place on top of a pair of chopsticks. I just want one because it looks so damn pretty.

A Chair for Clingy Lovers

A Chair for Clingy Lovers

If you’ve ever had someone sit in your lap, you know that 15 minutes is about the max your legs can handle. It’s really not fair. The Hug chair brings simple design and human gesture together for that extra time you want to sit with your significant other. When you’re away from your special someone the extra seat doubles as a convenient space, perfect for catching up on video chat.

Concrete Plates

Concrete Plates

Two of my favorite materials: concrete and wood. What’s not to love about these concrete plates by Nir Meiri. Albeit, they have got to be heavy… but nobody’s talking about throwing out the china. No matter the food displayed, it is sure to provide the perfect accent, completing the combination of textures and natural colors. Just tell your Greek brother in-law to be careful where he’s smashing plates with this one. OPA!!

What Big Hands You Have!

What Big Hands You Have!

Love it, love it, love it! The Zoomin Watch is such a brilliant concept, not only is the idea of magnifying nubs on the hands a superb idea, but also the design execution is sleek and sophisticated. Not for a single moment does it look like a watch intended for the Silver Generation…if anything it looks like cool wrist gear that will appeal to all generations. Designers, take a bow!

Yoga at The Lights

Yoga at The Lights

Any bustling metropolis faces loads of pedestrians waiting at busy intersections for their turn to cross the road. Designer Li Ming feels that there is a lot waiting time wasted and we can utilize it as “meaningful time”, perhaps with some exercise and fun. A stretch here and a pull there… like synchronized yoga asana! By the time the lights turn green, you’re the next Jane Fonda!

WTF is that?

WTF is that?

A coffee mug… duh.  Sip your favorite cup o’ joe in one of these ceramic sculptures by Jerome Olivet, appropriately named Speed, Flight, Skin, Attraction, Snake, Abstract, and Bimbo. Match the name to the mug.

A Hanger with an Extra Talent

A Hanger with an Extra Talent

The Tree Hanger hanger not only hangs clothes but the design also facilitates easy air drying. The base of each hanger has an extendable bit to snap more hangers together. The extra width is perfect for flat drying before you hang them up. The geometric cutouts provide just enough surface area for stability without disrupting airflow.

Catch That Cap!

Catch That Cap!

There are several ways to open a beer bottle but where do those bottle caps end up? Flung across the floor, someone’s forehead, trapped between the couch cushions? This clever device opens the bottles and catches the caps until you decide to release the prisoners by removing the flexible base to make room for more victims. Super Bowl Sunday will never be the same again! Think of the caps as badges of honor. Get drunk people.
