The Easy Binder

The Easy Binder

Hole Punch Binder is a combination of a punch machine and a binder; basically office equipment that will make filing sheets a whole lot easier! Writing paperwork and maintaining files is quite an art and if anything helps to make the process easy, should be applauded. Thankfully all my sheets are digital documents and am saved from all this hassle!

Sharp Twist that Ive will Love

Sharp Twist that Ive will Love

A pencil sharpener cannot get more basic than this! Twist is a stainless steel sheet, bent with one sharp side, mimicking a pencil shaving. Simple, functional and fantastic! In short, Steve Jobs approved!

Whoa! Good Looking Tape Dispenser

Whoa! Good Looking Tape Dispenser

Being innovative means moving beyond old habits and inventing something new. The Notchless tape dispenser achieves this with its unconventional design making it instantly recognizable as a tape dispenser. The form is reminiscent of a small snail with the roll of tape apparently floating weightlessly inside. The roll is held in place by a clear module which can easily be removed when replacing the tape. Made of aluminum and plastic. DO WANT!

Every Last Drop

Every Last Drop

It’s bad enough that, each year, millions of printer ink cartridges end up in landfills and incinerators. What’s worse is that most aren’t even empty! To make the most of the remaining ink, this smart design transforms from ink cartridge to handy stamp with a quick and easy removal of the cap. Not only does it help to cut back on wasted ink, but it also serve as a reminder to reduce, reuse, and recycle items that are often taken for granted.

Adidas' New Sporty Office

Adidas’ New Sporty Office

I thought my office was cool until I saw the exterior of Adidas’ new corporate headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The part that really stung though, was seeing the interior… thanks to the design teams at KINZO and Kadawittfeldarchitektur, I now officially hate my office!! The new working environment features a custom, sporty, and functional furniture system they like to call “WORKOUT” … a perfect name considering the design is purely Adidas in both form and function. Hit the jump to see for yourself!

Work Your Body at Your Desk

Work Your Body at Your Desk

If you’re a slave to your desk like me, you know what it’s like to daydream about getting a little exercise during the week and will appreciate this design. Introducing Fitness@Work- the perfect chair for keeping your blood flowing throughout the workday! For those big guns a central mainspring/handle combo is built into the core of the chair for a great arm resistance workout. Need to work on those 6 pack abs? Lean the seat-back to the floor, tuck your feet behind the stabilizers and…you get the idea. Neeeeed this!

Gluing The Edges

Gluing The Edges

The glue stick is a fine innovation but what the creators didn’t anticipate is the mess that happens when you try to apply glue to the edges of a sheet of paper. I place an old newspaper beneath the sheet to prevent accidental gluing of other stuff. InGlue Stick resolves the issue with a clever redesigning of the cap. A slight cut in the cap and an innovative twist-to-open system, allows you to slide a sheet into the gap. I think it’s a problem-solved design! Hurrah!

Office Supplies with a Twist

Office Supplies with a Twist

I love a design that not only puts a twist on the unsurprising aesthetic of its predecessors but also adds fun functionality to rid items of their mundane stereotypes. The REconstruction kit of desktop accessories does just that! The concrete (you heard me) stapler, calculator, tape dispenser and pen holder are not just formed from an unconventional material, but present an additional fun function to transform overlooked tasks like stapling and taping from tedious to entertaining.

Drafting Tools for the Serious Designer

Drafting Tools for the Serious Designer

Though traditional drafting is a dying art, it is a common experience that many designers can trace to the beginning of their careers. This collection celebrates how these tools are not just products of engineering, but design objects in their own right. These objects were developed with focuses on quality engineering, usability and placement as premium objects. The elements of each piece are united through a common visual language, while each tool also reflects its unique function.

Staple by the Date

Staple by the Date

Computers have made me such a lazy person that managing paperwork has become a difficult chore for me. It gets worse when the filing needs to be done chronologically. No magic wand to help me out here, but something like the Date Stapler will surely work. It’s the combination of a stapler and date stamper. Nifty organizer I tell you, every office should have one!

A Thoughtful Desk Design

A Thoughtful Desk Design

I love a design that incorporates its natural internal mechanics and structural elements into the aesthetic presentation. The simple articulation of the the legs on the sides of the Animate Desk allow a sliver of the maple, leather lined drawer to be seen on either side of the American black walnut exterior framework, enhancing its character and providing the user with an interesting look into the inner workings of their desk. Get it here!

SNAP! Pen

SNAP! Pen

It’s interesting that a commonplace item like the pen can really tell a lot about a person, because as I’m sure you know, people can be very particular about their pens. Focusing on this idea, the Turtle SNAPback series of work and play pens incorporates both sophistication and fun into an innovative design sure to have its fair share of devotees. The casings, which are finished in either refined steel or vibrant plastic, are pulled rather than pushed to let it “snap back” and expose the nib. Get your Turtle here!

Creating Desk Unity

Creating Desk Unity

Nothing like a really neat desk, exuding positive vibes thanks to its clutter-free look. One of the best ways to organize this look is with the Buro, a sleek block of objects commonly found on the desk, stacked together in a coherent fashion. The block includes items like staplers, hole-punches and calculators, all streamlined and classy! Do want one NOW!
