The 2011 iF concept design Showcase on Yanko Design – Part IV
Today’s lineup of 2011 iF concept design Showcase is interestingly different. Why? Because it contains many projects dedicated to Communication and Multimedia Design. This includes a broad spectrum of books, magazines and posters. One particular poster that tugs my heartstrings is the one dedicated to Domestic Violence. It communicates the irony of fate with such raw emotions and is overwhelming. Anyway, besides the C & M segment, the usual jamboree of product design is included to lighten up the mood. Enjoy!
Please note this is just a shortlist, winners will be announced at a later date.

the work "POSTxDM" is an old idea and common cutting method
it can be seen in many DM of exhibit or concert
juries really need to do some research before choose 300 works

Some of the stuff is very nice and subtle. The family violence poster is especially good in that regard. I like the milk cartons with apologies for missteps of youth as well.
I'm amused by the speed bump… that isn't a speed bump. They're obviously solving for the problem of people being slowed down by devices that are supposed to slow them down. The bike bags that turn into a tent were obviously designed by someone that's never done bicycle touring, a common theme in poorer designs.
As for the 1,057th collapsible accordion container… meh.

This is how speed bumps look for example in London since quite some time. Notice
the gaps for the cyclists…

Some people might not understand that the shortlisted are published before the final decision to eliminate projects that have been done before. At least I hope so… So please stop writing unobjective comments about copied stuff without prove. Instead just provide a link to the product you think it is similar to, and maybe the date that was published. I think this would be more helpful to improve the quality of the final selection.

hm..if this really the real finals? Isnt design about making innovation not only making something?
