Minimalistic Water Pipe
We’re in an age of utter simplicity. This is what is good, this is what is right in design. Design something that works and something that is bare down to the bones, and you’ve got something beautiful. Design a simple and functional water pipe, and you’ve got a real winner! This horizontal Middle Eastern water pipe is the first product in the “White” series of simplicity by TRIBUDESIGN. Such a lovely aesthetic!
In a product that’s normally stored away and aside is a new standard, one that fits in with the rest of the kitchenware. In this pipe is stainless steel, hand stitched leather, and natural acrylic stone.
This “White” series of products is done in order to both innovate and preserve. This pipe is made with acrylic stone and stainless steel to make it more hygienic, making is considerably less dangerous to the users health due to the subtraction of the materials traditionally used.
20 months of development, a set of customized tools and molds later, and we’ve got the most modern water pipe in the world: water pipe “A.”
In white.
To be distributed by Airdiem.

What the f is that thing used for?

Q: What the F is that thing used for?
A: Well that just tells that you are not a smoker. But I am not one to judge. A water pipe is used for smoking herbs, tobacco, or weed. A person will use a water pipe because when the smoke passes though the water is will cool the smoke as well as remove some of the toxins making it better for you and a more soothing smoke.

oooh ok lol
I know it under the name of hubble-bubble, hookah, or shishah, or also arguilah…
I’m sure it will find customers then!
Thanks.

What ad wizard decided to make the thing white. If it’s made to smoke shiz with, it’s going to get smoke residue and weed resin all over it. Fail.

How the heck to you buy one? I’m assuming it’s not out yet…

I doubt the person who designed this has ever smoked anything through a pipe. Where does the water go? do you fill it up like a squirtgun or stick the tube in a glass of water? Anyone who’s ever owned a protopipe knows how easily thin tubing in a pipe gets clogged up. unless the tube inside the stitched leather is easily replaceable you’re going to be sticking coathangers or bottlebrushes through it weekly just to keep using it. same issue with the bowl, atleast the protopipe came with a mini tool with a tip that fit into the holes of the bowl. Every time this “waterpipe” needs its built-in screen cleaned you’re going to be digging for a paperclip.
All style, zero substance.

Have to agree with Mr Method. Person designing as well as the reviewer are both non smokers. Where does the water go? Acrylic, Stone, Leather hose? Screen exposed leaving stains in your pocket? Surely too expensive as well. Pass
Better products already exist. Check out some of the advanced vaporizers at http://www.1percent.com

Hello,
Just wanted to make it clear that a water pipe is what is also known as a: narguileh, arguileh, shisha, hookah (google any of these you know what’s the origin of this product) and lots of other names coming from different places of the world. It originated and still is used in middle eastern and arabic countries and is used for smoking tobacco.
The design of this one is totally different from all the ones that came before because it’s the only one that is flat (2 inch high), while a regular one needs at least to be 15 to 20 inches high. The material used is hygienic, it doesn’t burn when the piece of coal used to heat the tobacco (not weeds).
Also for the ones that thought the design is not functional, well it is twice, if not more, as good as the traditional. The design is engineered on the inside so that the material doesn’t stain, wouldn’t need to be cleaned but through shaking the water inside it and then opening the metallic ellipse on the top and emptying it.
And again people this is not stupid design, it’s a piece that’s been designed and engineered for almost 2 years by a team of professional industrial designers (and not by some wacko artist that had a vision and sculpted it the next morning…no offense to all you wackos out there!). OH AND IT WON A RED DOT AWARD THIS YEAR. It’s very real, not a concept, it works great, and looks even better in reality…plus it exists in black and in different colors.
There’s a PVC tube inside the leather of course for the one who asked, and all the pieces are detachable and washable…
It is being distributed by Airdiem Paris worldwide, http://www.ardiem.com.
And here’s the design team’s website: http://www.tribudesign.net
If any one would like to know more about this product, feel free to ask…there’s a hell lot to be told about the simplicity and the ease of use and cleaning of this product, but I’m trying to keep this post readable.
Peace

Do you know how much this costs or if it is available? I tried contacting Airdiem and they basically just ran circles around my questions. Great post by the way.

This thing looks awful. who would ever use such a piece of crap? clearly designed by engineers who have never actually used a waterpipe.
and get this following quote:
“This pipe is made with acrylic stone and stainless steel to make it more hygienic, making is considerably less dangerous to the users health due to the subtraction of the materials traditionally used.”
nothing is more hygienic than borosilicate or pyrex glass
he says ‘not dreamed up and sculpted by some wacko artist’ then he says no offense if you are one. if you didn’t mean any offense, you would not have used that word.
find your local glass artist if you want innovative water pipes, not this garbage
