This iPod is Full of Air

It really is! Hear me out. The iBangle is Gopinath Prasana’s vision of a future iPod where the devices have become darn close to becoming jewelry. If you factor in inflation and the cost of Apple products today – might as well call it jewelry because it’ll cost as much. I digress, the iBangle is a thin piece of aluminum (of course) with a multi-touch track pad. To achieve the perfect fit, a cushion inside the ring inflates to keep itself taught against your wrist. Unisex? Maybe.

is this worn upstairs or downstairs?

  • zippyflounder says:

from the scaling with the finger its more of a neck ring than for the wrist…in any event its market is mostly for fem’s no matter xy or xx.

  • iPhoneGeek says:

    Awesome design,

  • applehater says:

awesome design, too bad you gave apple credit, hopefully they wont sue you now

  • Lamah says:

The air pump design is ridiculously overcomplicated and impractical. Why not just put foam or some other compressible material around the inside?

  • FameGadget says:

    Wow,, amazing concept

  • Cassandra says:

OMG thats so cool, I want one!

  • CoolProducts says:

Thats cool that it inflates with air to stay on you wrist. As far as unisex goes…not so sure about that.

  • zippyflounder says:

ummmm dumb question time, how do you hear your music via wires and ear buds? If so now you have a wire dangling up your arm, snagging every whatnot and thingamabob. If blue tooth or the like, that would be better but….dang some extra power is going to be needed and zip there go’s the smal foot print.

    • Oxman says:

Um..where have you been…last I checked there was dilithium crystals , flux capasitors and geothermalbiowaste…..goshhhhh

even jaw mounted perpetual motion / energy converter storage devises…..
And to keep it child safe I wont mention the hip mounted one for nimphomaniacs…but I hear it produces lots of power 🙂

  • FATMA says:

    Great concept.. futuristic as well
would love to buy if it was real

  • suzi says:

    Oi
Gostaria de saber todas as novidades

  • T says:

Love the design, very sleek. Wouldn’t it be great if it is real? Makes my jewelry look archaic. 🙂

  • Sarah says:

mmhh.. cool! I’d like to try one ^_^

  • Oh my Gooooooooooood……

Thank u guys. I really thank each one of you for your comments.

    • Haruspex says:

You clearly show the usage as being one finger only, which is fine. However, you state that the touchpad is multi-touch… which makes no sense. It seems like a single-touch pad to me, which is fine, just get it right. Throwing the phrase “multi-touch” in there despite it being unnecessary severely detracts from the design layout for me. Everything else was tight, even the imaginative tiny air pump.

  • ogeboge says:

    coooooooooool

Very good invention,i am interested in acting as your agent in South Africa on results only basis. If you could send me more details on the product like prices and the way you operate it would be helpful. Thanks
    Kind Regards,
    Donovan

    • Haruspex says:

It is not an invention, it is a concept design which does not exist and will most likely never be produced.

  • Ricardo says:

I like the concept and the design to experience, but i don’t see Apple here.
    Good work. Bye.

  • Reed says:

Holy shit if you put that to scale the controls are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to small, the fricken hold button is like the size of the period at the end of this sentence.

The idea is veryy creative, so props. Dunno about the air pump, seems to overcomplicated. Why not make it adjustable and lock it into position?

  • Emilchen says:

    MUST HAVE 🙂
    Really cool. I like it.

  • LM says:

  • angel says:

design something easier. this one is a bit complicated when u want to use when driving. you must know people bring ipod to everywhere. the small design is good but it’s hard to control when you are driving. try something easier to control.

    • Aali says:

U shouldn’t be driving w headphones in anyways. I’m a cook and it would be perfect for work while cleaning

      • Kassie says:

Doesn’t have to use headphones to use it in the car. Streams through car speakers

    • Jonah says:

What circumstances would you ever consider using an iPod while driving? That’s what a car stereo system is for! Are you aware it is illegal to drive with earphones in? Please keep this device as is! We’ll all pray people can’t use it while driving!

    • Esskay says:

I agree, its not user friendly at all. Plus u would have to bring this into the market now, its not a future product or design. This will suffer in future markets as we continue to build far more complicated but simple designs and technogies that will dominant future markets.

Its a preety braclet but not easy to use at all.

Does it actully work and how change song and I think u should lower price just saying

  • nat says:

this isn’t designed for use in the car. It’s supposed to be for people who go jogging or something. that way they don’t need an arm band for their ipod, and there are no cords in the way from their earbuds. I jog, and this would be AMAZING to use for that

  • Ivan Holmes says:

Would u guys please sell these I woul live one

  • Lisa says:

This is super cool and they would sell a ton of them!
