Active solar techniques like the use of photovoltaic panels and solar thermal collectors and Passive solar techniques like constructing buildings oriented towards the sun are the two methods that most designers consider whilst integrating solar energy into their design.

Saved By The Bed

The idea of a safety bed nestled within the railway track system is more than necessary for countries like India, where track-deaths are plenty. U-Roadbed is a U-Shaped roadbed created in the sleepers of the track. This cavity safely nestles the unfortunate person who slips onto the tracks of an upcoming train. I like the idea because any chance offered at survival and saving life is a good one. I only hope it’s a doable idea.

Like a lot of people, I use my phone as my morning alarm clock. And like a lot of people, I love to snooze! But after going through the motions to reset the timer, I’m already awake! This interesting bedside gadget eliminates the need for any touch screen interaction, making it possible to snooze your alarm simply by shifting its position on the rectangular board that syncs wirelessly with your phone. In one easy motion you can set the alarm, snooze it, or turn it off completely!

Alchemist Lamp

The Molting lamp’s unique arrangement of aluminum and walnut strips that make up its classically shaped shade create a visual eccentricity that appears to change with the viewers perspective. One moment it’s wood, another metal, and sometimes even an amalgamation of the two! The effect is exaggerated by the lined pattern of shadows created by the space between each strip.

Inspired by the magnificence of a magnifying glass, the Dolli Camera is a treasure trove of information and fun. It basically caters to the inquisitive nature of children and encourages them to visit outdoors more often. Urging them to explore the flora, fauna and the insect world, the camera also reveals encyclopedic information to the tots. An engaging way to keep them kids outdoor; love it!

Hoop Time

The Hoop is a minimalist watch with a dial that sports partially obscured hands. A circle marks the hour and the minute’s hand is a simple design. Crafted mainly from white rubber, the watch is as stark as it gets. Personally I prefer the dash of colors used in the hands rather than the black or white versions.
