The Bitter Cut

The Bitter Cut

Masterchef contestants can do with this innovative knife, given that they keep chopping up their fingers quite randomly. Essentially, the Sweet Knife is a clever kitchen knife with an integrated medicine loop. The idea was born from a personal experience, when one of the designers had no first aid medicine handy, to help him clean up his kitchen-accident wound.

Little LEGO Windmills

Little LEGO Windmills

Inspired by the building blocks and modularity of LEGOs, the Windflock is a wind-energy system that is flexible. The ‘add-on’ system is made of mini windmills and can be hooked up with each other. The cool quotient is upped by the fact that when connected, the mini windmills resemble a 3D crystal composition.

The Sensible Bike Saddle

The Sensible Bike Saddle

The recently crowd-funded Reprieve Bicycle Saddle incorporates the best of traditional saddles with new technology to alleviate soft tissue discomfort while cycling, mountain biking, spinning and more. The performance-oriented design drops the mid-section of the saddle to 3/4″ to naturally fit the outline of the body and prevents hot-spots while an air-filled bladder allows your soft tissue to ride on a soft layer of air. In short, it keeps your junk happy and endurance up! Vid after the jump —>

Virtual Fashion is Here

Virtual Fashion is Here

This Fits Me is a collaborative project that combines fashion with generative design, a technique most often used in architecture to make structures not static, but dynamic to adjust to the environment. Similarly, this digital process allows garments to adjust to the wearer. After a 3D body scan, the wearer’s precise measurements are applied to an algorithm so material can be laser cut & stitched for fitting. In just a few clicks, complex designs can be created that would otherwise be too time consuming to measure & manufacture. Vid after the jump!

Understanding The Air Con With Ambi Climate

Understanding The Air Con With Ambi Climate

Picture this – its a hot humid day, you come home and cool off with a chilled beer, switch on the air conditioner and relax on the sofa. Refreshing, as this seems, despite being technologically advanced, we still don’t make the most out of our ACs. The critical element missing in this perfect picture is a device that is intelligent enough to efficiently cool the room and save on energy bills while reducing our carbon footprint. The Ambi Climate is missing!

Freeze As You Please

Freeze As You Please

The FR is a flexible refrigerator that can allot storage space as per the food requirements. What this means is that in case you have more frozen foods than fresh, then simply switch the compartment dividers to increase the freezer space and vice versa. It basically gives you the flexibility to change the freezer to fresh-food configuration. Pretty clever if you ask me!

Balloon Bag For The Tails

Balloon Bag For The Tails

Car pileups can be disastrous and given the high speeds at which vehicles ply on the freeways, preventing secondary collisions can be tricky. The Air Bag Taillight is a safety balloon lamp that gets deployed as soon as the airbag of a crashed car blows up. The idea is to forewarn vehicles from a far, that an accident has taken place and to slow down their speed. On paper it’s a good idea, but I’m not sure if it will work very well. What do you think?
