Back in Summer 2006 Samsonite, the worldwide leader in travel solutions, announced a new partnership to develop a luxury collection of travel bags, luggage and accessories with leading international fashion designer Alexander McQueen under the company’s premium Samsonite Black Label brand. The collection is called Samsonite Black Label by Alexander McQueen. It was finally unveiled in January 2007 at Pitti, a menswear trade show in Florence.

The impressive luggage set has a modern futuristic look. The buzz has created quite a stir with the weekend wheelie designed to look like a human rib cage. “Unfortunately, I’m quite sick at the moment,” McQueen croaked when it was his turn to speak. He displayed his new suitcases, which resemble the ribs and spine of a very, very skinny model. “Fashion is sacrificial,” he explained. “I’ll give my body over to the general public whether they want it or not! I don’t care!”
