Unexpected Wildlife Inspiration
To be honest, I saw a photo of this car’s inspiration before the vehicle itself and assumed it would be completely ridiculous… after all, who designs a Mercedes after a fish (a trout no less)?? But upon seeing the actual car, I had a complete change of heart! Though its inspiration is unexpectedly organic, the SLK Aphelios exhibits futuristic styling and a touch of fluid elegance that’s … well… very Mercedes-like!

Nice design, but such low ground clearance and probably rock hard suspension would render it useless on the poor quality city streets I encounter on a daily basis. Looks great though.

I am immediately reminded of the Audi Avus Quattro Concept of 1991 and the IAD Alien Concept from 1986.

Love the design. They should do a proto and show it at Frankfurt….and we don’t need the fish to get it.

That was my first thought as well. I was hoping this was a design from the 90s that was archived. I honestly think this design is very dated and not very appealing.
