A Dog’s Best Friend
My dog, Buckley, is a just a pup weenie-dog but I have already started to notice signs that his elongated back might need some attention down the road, which is why I love this design by Nir Shalom. The Amigo is a super-ergonomic, lightweight, and durable walking aid. It can be adjusted to match the dog’s shape and size and allows the pet to move between walking, sitting, and laying down – all without assistance from their owner. Dogs’ bodies deteriorate just like humans, and that’s where the Amigo comes in handy.

This is the best thing yet that I’ve seen here on Yanko. Absolutely incredible! The dog is happy. The product functions perfectly and the asethetics are awesome. SO GREAT!!!

This is amazing, one of my dogs has got hip problems due to his size. This is something I would gladly pay for to help him out. Its much more stylish than most walking aids but more importantly it looks 100% functional and allows the dog almost complete freedom.

Wow, brilliant!!
It’s uplifting to see here on Yanko such a well executed design to a very real problem.
Hats off to the designer for really nailing this one with a really pleasing product, both aesthetically and in terms of functionality. The mechanics of this design to allow the pup to lay down, stand, and walk without the need of human intervention is something to be marvelled at. I really hope the tension/resistance of the mechanism allows enough adjustment to accommodate dogs of all strengths and abilities.
What I love about this concept is that the designer has not been superfluous with ideas that render the design ‘not fit for manufacture’ (which we often see too much of these days). Shalom has solved the problem, refined it, and got on with the job, using materials that appear very appropriate.
Well done.

I’m impressed. This is good problem finding. However, the music is ridiculous.
Adam says
How do you fit it to different dogs? I guess the question is if it is bespoke one off design?

Dakoroman, Sydney : AMIGO = a beautiful product, a folding pets walking aid. Congratulation to Designer: Nir Shalom. However, when mix together a LIVE body/ disabled pet with a STILL FRAME/ AMIGO, the outcome can not be a compact/ homogenous entity and function like that, unless we make them COMPATIBLE TO EACH OTHER. Folding is just one solution, but if you look when the dog goes down the stairs there are problems, also AMIOGO = customised/so higher prices, it only applies to the back legs, etc. There is an ALL TERRAIN/ FOLDING/ CHEAP/ UNIVERSAL/ CONVERTIBLE/ LIGHT/ PORTABLE WALKING AID for disabled pets + humans, calleed DAKOROMAN WALKING SYSTEMS.
Good luck to Mr. Nir Shalom with AMIGO.

Scandalous……pet insurance companies will love it, another way to increase their income at the expense of the animal…..products like these just perpetuate suffering for animals that unfortunately should no longer be with us (i talk from experience)
