Porsche Design Smartphone For Your Cellphone Wet Dreams!
Conceptual plans are awesome especially if they promise you the moon! Here is what André luring you with, a Porsche Design Smartphone that is in slick aluminum, and a huge clean multi touch screen. The speaker is hidden out of sight between the glass and the aluminum body, to increase its aesthetic appeal and sound enhancement. The line at the bottom is the home and navigation button and the aluminum volume controls are housed to the left side.
A Quick video access button is hosted at the right side of the phone, giving you easy access to making great home videos. The back sports a dual camera system. You can use only one of the cams to take 5Mp photos and shoot 720p HD video with stereo sound quality, plus use the dual camera system to record 3D video and pictures. And of course, for low light situations there is a LED flash included!
Other specs include Android based system with custom apps developed by André. A 3,5mm audio jack and a sleep button on the top, and on the bottom there’s the battery charger and USB connecter as well.
All good on paper…like I said, a wet dream for the techie-lover in you!

Looks like iPhone 4… front side is flipped upside down and in the menu the top bar is flipped horizontally… but it looks very very nice!

Thanks for your comment. It doesn't look like the iPhone 4, it was designed to feet the porsche design line.

ummmm… yea it does like an Iphone 4. This design is a little too minimal.

There are an unbelievable number of spelling mistakes and typing mistakes on those Porsche Design pages. Makes you wonder how amateur the team at Porsche Design really is.
Jake says
student project, not actually Porsche. Haha, makes you wonder how gullible you are.
Sam says
Ugly. I wouldn't even buy it because they wrote porsche design on it.

This has nothing to do with Porsche design….meaning this was not done by Porsche design..just a high school student project…which is not bad for a high school student!!!
Brian says
The kid who designed this is 17 years old. Does NOT work for PORSCHE DESIGN and this should not be posted with Porsche's logos and represented as a porsche design product.
VERY MISLEADING!
Unethical design!
Guesat says
lol put a sticker labeld 'Porsche Design' on your iphone 4…you have the same…

I am sorry but what spelling mistake are we talking about?
he is 17 and please for god sake , there is a difference between an I phone 4 and this one. there are some design principles of PORSCHE DESIGN which he has TRIED to communicate in this design.he might not have succeeded in that but acknowledge is passion and his demonstration.
dont knock him down , it atleast isnt one of those where you just say WTF?
Mr.Brian – some design colleges atleast mine have a course called COMMUNICATION IN DESIGN, where we are taught to design a product and then further CO BRAND it which in return increases communication skills and branding and advertising skills.
No offence to all,
@Andre – good work mate ,could be much better!
CHEERS!

You really don't see all the spelling errors! Wow

I guess you are sort of inspired by Andrew Kim(designed the htc 1 concept)'s style? However, nice rendering! keep up the good work!

Nice… however the exclusive and stylish theme is somewhat destroyed with the misspelling of ‘speaker’…

Hey guys! Thank you very much for your comments! This was the biggest project, actually the first one, I've ever done, so is really like to see some CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS so I can learn more and more.
By the way, and it's not the answer for the mistakes, but I'm not a design student!
Cheers

Using 2 camera lenses that are 15 mm apart won't give you any 3d effect. you need to increase the distance. in order to get te best effect, they need to be at least on the same pitch as your eyes are.
you could put one on the top and bottom part to get the largest pitch.
Other than that, it does really look a bit like an I phone 4 with tighter radii in the corner.

bloody nice for an high school project!

Excellent renderings for a high-school project and nicely communicated on the layout. It's a shame the whole thing is spoiled by spelling mistakes.
I often wonder with projects like these how much detail has gone into the actual design rather than the concept. For example: the cameras are not far enough apart to capture 3D. How long is the battery life when shooting HD 720p? How is the front screen held in place? Where did the hidden speacker (sic) technology derive from? Estimated cost of manufacture per unit? Weight? It would be nice to know that these issues had been addressed, answered, ignored, glanced at casually from across the room…
Let down by attention to detail, but a nice concept and well presented.

Beautiful design… One recommendation, although a custom UI on Android would be excellent, the hard edges of the phone would be a natural fit for Windows Phone 7. Granted that is taking the easy way out, instead of customizing an OS unique to the phone, but the squared off edges just give me that feeling.
Excellent work… comparisons to iPhone are natural for a glass and aluminum slate device. Think of it this way, you're being compared to one of the most elegant hardware designs on the market. Most other smartphone manufactures can't get close to something this nice.

"Almost made of aluminum and glass" should probably be "Almost entirely made of aluminum and glass" unless it's not made of aluminum and glass. Great rendering, though I'm afraid you're not going to get away from the iphone 4 comments, because, well, it looks like an iphone 4.

Hey,
The comments above ARE constructive. It looks too much like the iPhone. I do see the PD design language but it definitely sitting in the shadow of the iPhone here. Make sure you spellcheck next time… It’s like seeing an attractive person with a rotten tooth. There’s many other roots you could have taken especially since all smartphones look the same nowadays. Your comments also sound arrogant…
That said, graphic design is well done.

How can you say that does not look like an iPhone4? It actually looks more Apple styled than Porsche. The steel frame, the black cover and the talk hole. But anyway, it is a great project.
André Silva says
Hey man! Thank for your comment! The hole you see is not the "talk hole", it's actually a warm sensitive home button. Then you can see I used the same materials the iPhone has, but just because they are the most premium materials used in technology.
By the way, the P'9522 was released in 2008 and the iPhone 4 in 2010, and I was inspired on the 9522.
Cheers

André, the UI screens are not your own. Fess up or I'll sic the internet morality police on you.
Original designer here: http://designfabulous.blogspot.com/2010/07/htc-1….

good presentation, but there is no design element in it at all.. all you did was cross iphone4 with the P'9522 and from steve's link, you can clearly see that the interface is stolen from someone.
i dont see any porche related styling in the concept phone, if you take the porche logo off would you be able to associate the brand with the phone? things u need to think about when saying "brand design"

You people have been so well branded by Apple that anytime you see a square phone with a camara & a buttons you say “That looks like a IPhone!”. That’s just a testament to how well Apple has branded it’s products & logo into each & everyone of your minds.
This guy did a nice job on this & it has this luxuriance & sleekness to it like Porsche cars.
And who cars if he used Porsche. People use Apple on a daily basis for Apple concepts. He isn’t gonna sell or profit from the concept, It’s just a fun render.
Your a bunch of tools who have been branded by Apple & have no ability to innovate of your own. I do Concept designs daily & I’m 15. I’d like to see many of you do any better…
