Dosh Wallets 2.0 Review

We reviewed the original Dosh wallet in 2008 but the Aussie company is back with more styles, more colors, and a series of bespoke art wallets to choose from. I also want to introduce you to our new review editors Bret and Greg. Both switched from traditional wallets to give the Dosh a spin. Hit the jump for their review.

Check out this awesome stop motion animation starring the Dosh wallet.

I have the 3 card money clip version and it works fine for me 'cos I dont like having really thick wallets and carrying loads of redundant cards (credit card, bank card, work pass and I can actually fit a 4th behind the plastic of the money clip for my driving licence).

I previously had the old, old version which had coin storage, but the weight of the coins when walking/running after time broke the plastic esges holding the coins in and so became useless, plus the old coin version was much larger than the newer money clip ones.

They can be a little bit expensive though.

I have a dosh wallet (classic model) and its great. First though I have was that it would be fragile because of the plastic parts but I am using it for almost a year and it´s still like new. Great product.

Hi Bret and Greg and everyone who's commented on the review and sent us emails!!, Glad you guys like the wallets! I've spoken to our production team this morning and we've now loosened the tension slightly on the Christmas batch of money clips so it's easier to get your money in and out….really appreciate your feedback on this.

In regards to the "stickyness and stiffness" of the wallets, we've deliberately designed the wallets like this so that they loosen up over time. We find that people love how the wallet "grows with you" just like your favourite pair of jeans.

We designed the 3 and 6 card in an attempt to encourage people to streamline their life, to get rid of the things they don't need and stay agile. This sentiment runs through everything we do, we try to keep things simple and uncluttered.

Yanko, thanks again for the review and for posting the animation piece…very awesome!!

Great review…..I felt the exact same way when I first started using it ( Cookies and creme 3 card ). It was just such a different wallet experience and the first week I was asking myself " Should I go back to my hemp bi fold?" I did not..and I am glad. The 3 card money clip is bigger and you get used to where you need to bend the wallet to make the clip accessible..for the very few times I actually have cash on me ( we live in a credit and debit world..and Dosh knows this )

Because I have a Dosh..I find myself getting to my cards quicker, not worrying about a clunky uncomfortable wallet, and not just filling my wallet with meaningless receipts..cards..business cards..and fortunes from fortune cookies ( you keep them too…yeah..YOU. ) Dosh streamlines the philosophy of 'Less is More' and they have a lifelong customer because of that. So if the price point is making you cringe..but your curiosity is trying to entice you…then Go for it, the intrinsic value surpasses the price tag ( which really isn't that much )..if you end up not liking it….that's what ebay is for!
