A Silent Alarm Clock
Alarm clocks usually jolt us awake leading us to reach for the almighty snooze button. Silence is a conceptual alarm clock that allows you to program multiple alarms and wakes you without any sound. Each person wears a wireless rubber ring with an integrated vibration device that generates a tactile alarm. The snooze function is engaged by shaking your hand. However, each successive time you want to snooze, more movement is required, making sure you get to work on time.

been done (conseptualy) now if the kiddie make it a funcitoning proto, well then thats a differnernt turnip. I am a sound sleeper and that puppy would be shaking my arm, leg, bed and the damn floor to wake me up….noper its a deader.
itzkhoa says
its not new, but when the hell are we going to see these on the market? ive been waiting for any new news on the on showed early last year.. and still nothing
bobby says
nice design, however cheap imitation….
the main idea was to measure with the wrist band the REM phases
and then to wake you or your better half up at the most appropriate
moment

oh Iove it very much Iwant to buy it…

here is a similar, but slightly different product

Nice simple styling by the way!

Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of an alarm though? Personally for me I set an alarm to “Jolt” me awake.
Why would I want an alarm that is less annoying and easier to ignore?
If the problem is using the snooze button instead of getting up, move the alarm clock across the room forcing you to get up when it goes off.

This is Universal Design! … how could a deaf person be woke up? With sound? Or with vibration/light?
v says
I know that when I’m jolted awake, it’s a horrible start to my day. This could be a real help to a lot of people who suffer excessive stress, because I believe it all starts with how you wake up.
deanween8 says
yeah so. i dont care if its on the market or not. id love to hear any of you willing to sleep with a watch on all night……let alone a braclet alarm clock.
moon says
I always sleep with my watch on as well as all my lucky stone bracelets. A lot of people keep theirs on
Tanko says
I would not think it would be make too many poeple feel sick, cause i have been wearing my ring on my finger for long years, once you have get into it, it would not be a obstacle for any time, for anything you are doing.
so, I think it would work for the market, i mean most of the people will not think it a trouble if the ring is not so tight to the finger.
powaz says
Yeah, I’ve seen a few repeats up here recently too. Looks nice though.

Extremely innovative and cool clock. I’m wondering if something like this is already used by persons with hearing disabilities?

There are various alarm clocks, but this one is my favorite, it is an alarm clock with a Switchable Audible-Vibrating Alarm with a Multi-Alert Timer – It BEEPS, FLASHES and/or VIBRATES.

I’ve read this idea in a book before, published in 2001 by Tonino Benacquista, called “Quelqu’un d’autre”. Funny, ’cause the book is, among other this, about somebody wanting to become rich by patenting his ideas. This is one of his first ideas and works quite well (fictionally, that is).

Sorry I don’t know if it was published in english.
Cheers,

is it possible to set 4 different alarms?
Texas62 says
Yes it’s also a good idea, but I saw something new : P-buz alarm clock, very interesting on this website : http://www.p-buz.com/
I think it’s a wonderful idea !
A light late sleeper says
I suspect the idea is to wake one person WITHOUT disturbing the other – for example, a couple with differing schedules – thu sthe one who doesn’t have to be up at some horrid early hour is not bothered by the partner’s noisy buzzing alarm, and the one who wakes early needn’t reset the clock for the other….

Hello. I 'm from Romania and I don't hear very well. My diagnostic was set as severe sensorineural hearing loss on both ears. I wear hearing aids on my both ears. Now , this fall I will go to university. But I can't wake up on time on myself , my biologic clock is a bit slow. I can't wake up until someone wake me. I want to be sure that I will be ok and i will come to courses on time.
And i don't want to depend by others. I understand that my future room -mates have their lives as well.
I 'like to know how much costs the product and if i can find it in Romania. I need one desperately. Help.. Thanks in advance!

I wish this was for sale! I love to set my alarm 2 hours before I need to wake up, so that I can go back to sleep. My husband HATES it b/c even the vibrating alarms wake him up too, and the can't go back to bed. If this was for sale, I would totally buy it.

Responding 2 years later, but this technology is used for the hearing impaired. I use it. However, I like the idea of having a wireless ring. I currently have a piece that goes under my pillow and is not the most comfortable thing.
