AirChair

AirChair

Inspired by the framework of the the very first experimental aircraft, the Air Chair’s triangular steel structure is at once reminiscent of flyers of the past and modernly minimal. Faceted planes compose the seat and back for an aerodynamic aesthetic that also excels in comfort. Even more interesting, every section of the design has also been proportioned to the “golden ratio” for aesthetic appeal.

So Thin, We're Worried

So Thin, We’re Worried

Somebody get this lamp a cheeseburger because it is wayyyyyy skinny! It’s called the Lanx lamp and it highlights the extreme thinness of current OLED technology. 3mm aluminum gives the barely-there structure strength while a skinned wood veneer provides surface protection and completes an aesthetic best described as ethereal.

Wrapped Around My Finger

Wrapped Around My Finger

The Zero is yet another bottle packaging design that looks at extracting the very last drop of its contents. We saw a similar toothpaste design that used centrifugal force to drive all the toothpaste towards the mouth. The question here is, does this concept work or should designers put back their thinking caps and come up with something different? What do you say?

Less About The Time

Less About The Time

The Lessolute is a clock and timer combo that works together in a distinct, emotional manner. When its placed horizontal, the device functions as a clock, but when you stand it straight, it works like a timer. Interacting with the clock is more likely to get it working, rather than pressing some buttons! Interesting!

Possibly the Sexiest E-Bike Ever?

Possibly the Sexiest E-Bike Ever?

Nikos Manafis’ e-bike concept achieves its sharp, aerodynamic form through a manufacturing process that consists of folding sheets of aluminum around minimal, lightweight frame. But it’s an electric bike, so where is the motor?— Not one but two 250W in-wheel motors work either separately for extended range, or together for an extra boost of speed. Extras include a classic Brooks saddle and 3d printed lenses for LED tail lights! Watch the 360!

Octo – Electric Magic

Octo – Electric Magic

The Octo is a multi-tap and an extension cord. It features retractable cables and extending sockets that allow you to easily hook up multiple devices. I like playful design that fits into a quirky room; much better than drab old boxes!

Retractable Earphones

Retractable Earphones

Ice or Integrated Case Earphone is a retractable set of earphones that are built into the phone case. You simple tug at the earphones to extend the cord and then give them a slight pull, to retract. Essentially the design takes care of your wires and tangles mess; eliminating the need to wind them up or storing them separately. Love the idea, now only if someone will make it!

Set it and forget it!

Set it and forget it!

Orb is a universal replacement stove knob that aims to make kitchens smarter. To tackle the problem of users forgetting about their stove being on, the design uses a series of “whistles” to periodically remind the user to check on the items being cooked. In the event that the user has become distracted and forgotten, the device will automatically rotate to the off position at the end of the cycle. Attachable to any stove, old or new, it transforms a basic appliance into a smart one!

What A Dumbbell!

What A Dumbbell!

Banking on gyroscope and centrifugal force to add weight to its being, the Power Dumbbell is a unique option in weight training tech. Essentially, you don’t end up buying an array of weights for training but use only one set that can modify its intensity by gyro tech. Pretty impressive!
