How To Glam Up The Loo

How To Glam Up The Loo

Today’s lesson is on converting dowdy objects to something luxe by simply changing their looks and casings. Shallow as it may sound, in the toilet world, objects like plunger, scrubs and toilet brushes need a glam avatar so that we don’t feel filthy while using them. Keeping this in mind is the Undercover Collection that dolls up the plunger and paper in a sleek steel-finish casing. A casing with a universal design that can accommodate any size of plungers. It sure would look good in my loo, plus I like the idea of camouflaging the unsightly thingies that are essential for a clean looking toilet.

A Really Flat Chair

A Really Flat Chair

Kök is a flat-pack chair inspired from a blue chair, a common staple in Mediterranean and Aegean culture. Simple to make and easy to assemble, no adhesives or complicated joints. From my understanding, the weight of someone sitting reinforces the tension at the joints making the bond even stronger.

A Light Made Of Hangers?

A Light Made Of Hangers?

Wire hangers were really my first tool and resource to build all sorts of things when I was kid so it’s no surprise someone thought to turn a bunch of them into a chandelier called Light MI. You basically have a series of fixed hangers around a bulb. The shape becomes abstract but familiar in a whimsical way. Cool thing about this product? It’s real if you want it. Info after the jump.

Washing Machine Goes Wall Mount

Washing Machine Goes Wall Mount

As promised, I’m here with the details on the Dismount Washer. It’s a concept that looks at space saving and hygiene at one go. The way it works is like this, you have your own personal tub for your laundry that can be mounted on an “energy stick”. Using high-pressure steam as its source for cleaning, the washers does its job, and gives a fresh batch of washed clothes. A touchscreen display is integrated for easy navigation and menus. Ideal setup for those who prefer using Laundromats or don’t have space for a washing machine at home.

Redefining The Home Office

Redefining The Home Office

I work from home and as many may have seen I have an open desk in a secluded room. Not all working-from-home people are blessed like me to have a private office within the house. Many have to use their bedrooms or living rooms as their work area. In such homes, the office desk tends to be a complete misfit amongst the backdrop. The Buro can help redefine the office-home boundaries. It’s a desk that is perfect for your work, but once you shut the cover down, it transforms into an elegant side table. Clever!

Window Seats, Wow What A View

Window Seats, Wow What A View

Without looking out, can you describe the view outside your window? I bet you don’t have the time to glance out there and take in the sights! What a shame, cause imagine if you did take out the time to savor a cup of joe, I would have installed the “Happy Window” for you. A super cool side table that opens up to reveal two chairs and a table to hang from the windowsill. It gives you instant service for the moment, and then wraps again to become furniture against the wall.

Hand Shadow Shapes Upon the Wall

Hand Shadow Shapes Upon the Wall

Enthralled by the idea that something creative can be constructed with nothing more than one’s own appendages, designer Victoria Cramsie created this fabulous wallpaper design for children. In that vein, the wallpaper design is titled “Hand Made.” It’s lovely and fantastic and screenprinted – my favorite method of printing inks by far. No foolies.

Light Saber For The Table, With A Digi Frame

Light Saber For The Table, With A Digi Frame

It depends on you entirely, how crazy or clean you keep your workspace. Family pictures, calendars, table lamp etc. require their own nook, thus cramming up the table. For those who can’t do without stuff, you need a table that can conceal the frills, until required. You need the “Hidden Friends”, a table that has a pop-up table lamp (looks like a lightsaber) and a pop-up digital pictureframe concealed into its surface. Clever way of keeping a clutter-free table! But what if you place a book on top of the concealed frame and forget about it?

Plastic Beach Sucka

Plastic Beach Sucka

When the Gorillaz put out their newest album, “Plastic Beach,” did you know what they were talking about with the title? Do you know what the plastic beach is? It’s an occurrence in the sea where garbage from every direction comes together to form an island of trash. The largest of these islands sit in the Pacific Ocean, the same location where this project by Electrolux, “Vac from the Sea,” aims to turn that garbage back upon itself. Yes, they’ll be transforming these floating conglomerates of plastic back into something useful – vacuum cleaners!
