One of the major drawbacks with an induction cooker is that you can’t use it with a wok or round-based pots. Designer Chen Ruike has conceptualized an innovative solution. One where the Induction Cooker has a two-sided rotating cooking surface! One side accommodates flat-based utensils and the other side – rounded pots.

Imagine having access to fresh herbs 24×7 via an under-counter herb solution! The Electrolux ‘Herb Garden’ Concept does just that and it provides us the luxury of a self-replenishing indoor garden that expands our cooking capabilities. This hydroponic concept brings year-round seasoning to the domestic kitchen. One of the key ingredients to good cooking is herbs, they add wholesome flavours that are delicately distinguished by their aroma and taste.

The Yacht uses the principle of electro-magnetic induction as maglev feature for automatic cooking. Presently, the induction cooker uses magnetic field to heat pots containing iron. Adding the maglev feature (departure mode), this new concept levitates a pot using magnetic force. Awesome! Just like a levitating fakir!

The Eco Rice Cooker was named not only for its electric efficiency, but also for its material eco-conciousness. Made from either recycled plastic or bio-plastic, the design’s minimal interface features less (and therefore more simple) controls to minimize the number of unnecessary component parts. Its compact size is perfect for single servings and won’t take up valuable counter or cabinet space.

Simply love this WMF Kitchen Knife Concept for its geometric aesthetics and the fact that it is crafted from a single piece of metal. Essentially, the knife is characterized by blended volume and how the gradient gently mergers the layers. The design screams high-end luxury and me likes that!

The Iceberg is a smart fridge that nests a portable Freshbag to take along on the road. The centrally located round box is ideal for picnics and a day in the sun. The sweet deal is that the central part of the iron is transparent and it allows you to see where you’re ironing. It makes sure you don’t damage any part of your outfit. Awesome!

Simple Crinkle is a very clever design; when flattened it is an iron that can be used on clothes and when bent, it is a hair straightener. I love it for its very practice approach and usability factor. When I am travelling I tend to pack in both, my hair iron and a clothes’ iron. So, if the tech guys can figure out a heating system that is both safe on hair and clothes, then this design is a complete winner! What do you think?

The Rolling Static-cleaner is silent cordless cleaner with a ball tip that traps fur and dust. It basically uses electromagnetic force to attract the dust particles and fur that is shed by your pets. We all know the merits of a clean home: lesser allergies and sickness; thus the use of a technology that ensures this, is very relevant. I love the wand design of the machine. Kinda makes it futuristic.

The Cactus is a hybrid kinda appliance, one that moves from a freezer to a refrigerator to a food warmer. Consider it as a food storage box that keeps your eatables either warm or cold, depending upon the requirement. Designed for use in nuclear households, the appliance goes against the typical principle of conducting heat from the outside to cool the inners of a fridge.
