Poverty is a difficult problem to diagnose let alone solve but nonetheless as designers we can address different aspects of poverty and hope by dealing with each point in the problem, we can begin to collapse the systemic process and give back the dignity every person deserves. The Design for Poverty contest was a big success thanks to all the entrants. To do our part for Blog Action Day 2008, we wanted designers all around the world to come up with ways to address different aspects of poverty; food, clean water, shelter, medicine, education, etc. We’re amazed at all the creativity and ingenuity. Design for Poverty International Contest hosted by Yanko Design in collaboration with Blog Action Day. Participation is open to applicants from every country in the world; professionals, students, and design enthusiasts.
We’re short on posts today as the Yanko Design team are all on holiday. It’s Labor Day in the United States so with half the team kickin’ back with BBQ’s and beers, we thought it best to give the international team a rest too. But there’s more than meets the eye.
It has recently been discovered that our Contact Form on the Contact Us page has been experiencing problems routing emails. Unfortunately, if you have contacted us with the said form over the last two weeks, there is a reasonable possibility that your mail has been lost. Got an opinion on the ID industry? Speak your mind. That’s the kind of stuff we want to read. You’re probably used to YD only writing about concepts but as we grow, we want to expand. That includes concepts, product reviews, industry news coverage, and opinionated editorial pieces.
