@ coz: Well that’s well and good, but don’t you have any improvements for the actual design? This isn’t one of those things where you’re supposed to defeat the purpose.

My solution is Either AIAIAI Pipe headphones or Urban Ears. The one has a none stick thicker rubber cable and the other a rope style cable. They both don’t tangle no matter what you do. I roll mine up in my back pocket for half a day, take them out and they fall free. Ready to use.

So some companies have solved the problem without adding extras. If only Apple would realise their headphones are crap and because of it have spawned a whole industry of great headphones to replace theirs.
