Keep Your Hair Brush Clean
Let’s get paranoid for a minute. Worried someone might steal a strand of your hair and clone you? With the Easy Comb and its removable rubber base, DNA snatchers are kept at bay and your brush stays clean. Seriously, someone should have thought of this a long time ago. I’ve seen similar concepts but this one seems to be the most basic and sometimes that’s the best way to go.
Easy Comb is a 2011 iF concept design entry.

Very clean, simple solution for removing tangles from a hair brush and maintaining good hygiene. They say we lose about 100 strands of hair a day.

It's easy to get the rubber thing off, bur how do get it back on?

Then tell me, how? Can it be done easily in two seconds, just as taking it off?

Please note that there are a variety of patents on this idea already, as well as a well iterated commercially available product.

Already existing products do better job than this concept. As someone mentioned above, it would be easy to pull out the rubber out, but it would be so much more harder to put it back on which will become more annoying.

I think the purple rubber thing only has to be loosely fitted so I'd imagine getting it back on shouldn't be hard. Only problem…make sure you don't get any hairs on the brush while the rubber thing is off.
I'd buy it, although it currently isn't such a big issue – I just vacuum my brushes when vacuuming the bathroom.

Nice concept but putting the thing back on looks like it will be painful. Aligning the holes of the flexible cover with the flexible quills probably won’t be easy.
On an unrelated note… if you’re afraid of DNA snatchers, where are you gonna dump the hair?

I have one very similar, just a little better than this one. My grandma gave it to me when I was a kid (I'm almost 40).

Will they ever sell these in stores?

I agree with most of the comments here! Getting the rubber ‘thing’ off looks easy but putting it back on looks as if it would be next to impossible!! First of all, aligning all the holes with the rubber bristles would be difficult… AND since the bristles are flexible and not rigid, I can’t imagine it would be easy to get them to go into each hole. The concept makes sense but the design (and materials) do not!

AVON makes a similar brush that is easier to put back on its just hard to get a hold of since you have to contact a sales rep

Rude… obviously its not going to be as easy to put it back on as it was to taking it off.
