Rolling Through Seoul

Seoul is ranked the thirteenth largest economy in the world. The massive growth has created a metropolis with all too familiar problems – pollution. The Aiolos concept proposes a new system where buildings outfitted with wind generators pump power into a grid to charge these funky little cars. The cars have builtl-in propellers that capture wind energy. The faster you go, the more energy you generate. Talk about sub-compact!

This is a joke, right? When in motion, ANY energy produced by the wind generators will be coming from the engine or batteries anyway – minus significant losses. They would just have to work harder to compensate, using more energy in the process. Repeat after me: There Ain’t No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.

I already saw this before, actually in Yanko, it´s really the same stuff, the only different thing is the color but other than that it´s pretty similar. You should do a research before actually designing something.

    Funny thing !!
it looks like you made your design research and inspiration on a past publication from Yanko

this is actually better than the original!

As a side note, when this vehicle gets into a t-bone type collision, you’ll have to protection whatsoever and you’ll have glass flying towards the whole side of your body.

Yanko-design keeps getting their physics wrong … And to the designer of this: so you can render and do some photoshop … now you can start learning what design is really about, mkay?

  • Ben K says:

I actually like both, they are similar but different at the same time; you can´t say it´s a copy, it´s like saying you copy a bicycle design, they are the same and they do the same but have different characteristics.

And, it´s a CONCEPT, this is why it´s called concept design, no one is saying that it will be an actual production so give it a break!

There was no mention of infinite loop. So don’t be so quick to poop on this project. Built-in propellers that capture wind energy could be another kind of small alternators that help charge batteries. For a longer autonomy of the vehicle perhaps. We need to get rid of our cars anyway, it’s becoming ridiculous.

  • Quantum says:

I know right, it is silly how many designers seem to think they can defeat the second law of thermodynamics. The wind turbines are only going to create more drag, slowing down the vehicle and making it less efficient.
