Simplifying A Chair To Its Core Material

For the most part, modern furniture design has looked for ways to take wood to as many different forms as possible so designer Richard Alex asked, can we go back? This chair clearly shows its source material, held together by a simple strap. Each log is actually from the same tree. If you were to stack them, they would all fit.

More of a stool than a chair, but i love the concept, honest appealing and usable. completely recyclable and organic. This i worthy or an award.

forget your curvy chairs or plastics or fibreglass. this is true design. Design that embodies an idea. you would hopefully not go out and purchase this from a shop rather go and make your own.

can i see this happening, can i see this being voted no 1? im afraid not. the perception of beauty or aeathetics today is clouded. good = new = expensive.
