A little Nature Here And There

A little Nature Here And There

OMG this is so freakin’ ADORABLE. These Leaf Ties replace boring plastic ones you may have bundling up cables and wires around the home. Bring a little nature to it by using these ties instead. Of course, I would use it as a decorative element. Hell, I may even just wrap it around my fingers and go out like that. If you want to get really creative, think about how those exposed cables sort of like like vines, except they’re missing one crucial component – leaves! Just let that marinate in your head for a minute.

Watch What You Do

Watch What You Do

Is there a lot of hustle and bustle in your office or are people stationary? These questions sparked an interesting experiment at the Copehagen Institute of Interaction Design. Sidetrack is a table that draws patterns to reflect movement within an environment, specifically targeting certain areas or people. The mechanics consist of an old printer and B&O turntable. The more erratic patterns reflect a highly interactive space. A minimal one denotes a room full of people sitting quietly with their headphones on, barely moving. Which one are you?

Make A Paperclip Nest

Make A Paperclip Nest

I want this like yesterday. The aptly names Nest is a magnetic shaped egg you need to coddle and care for by building a nest of paperclips. Keeps it stable and like any good mother, you may get a wonderful surprise after a few months. I’m totally kidding about that although if anything hatches, please write me. That deserves a story.

HOW TO STICK IT IN...

HOW TO STICK IT IN…

We have all been there before. It’s late, you’ve had a few drinks, you really want to get your “creative” juices flowing. You have an idea of what you really want to do but unless you get your tools up to speed, you are just limping along. Fumbling with our “lead” and trying in vain to get it in the right hole can be a mission. Precise alignment is often a make or break proposition and getting it wrong can be embarrassing. No one knows these issues more than designers Hoyoung Lee, Youngwoo Park & Jungmin Park.

Don’t Iron Bras At Work

Don’t Iron Bras At Work

We are on a Lebedev overdrive today and rightly so. Their concepts are seemingly perfect for today’s fun day! What we have in this batch is a coffee mug re-design that puts the “energy of hot coffee to practical use.” In simple terms, the heat from your piping hot coffee-filled mug “Ironius” can be used to iron out a few creases of your shirt. Perfectly handy for those naughty ones who indulge in office romances. *Nina in her silky black bra are not included in the package!

Truly the Wildest Blind

Truly the Wildest Blind

Bear with me here, this is a pretty interesting and therefor slightly difficult concept of a window covering to understand. What we’ve got here is a set of blinds. You know, the covering for windows. These are the blinds that run up and down in columns, but these are unique in that they drop like the horizontal type. There are four modes of dropping: all the way up, all the way down, halfway, and graph. What does the graph do? It takes the amount of time you’ve worked and played and graphs it on your window for the world to see!

This Clock is Not Upside Down

This Clock is Not Upside Down

Hello you late to bedders, did you know we’re awake at the same time? The darkness makes it seem like you’re alone, but I will haunt you FOREVER! No, actually, what I’m saying is that lots of people, especially people who spend the majority of their time on these internets, stay up very late into the night (and usually into the morning then too.) Darkness, that’s where it’s at. It’s where all the good stuff happens if it’s winter, and it’s where it’s funny to run around in a tshirt in the summer. But once inside, we gonna need us a clock.

Swinging The Other Way

Swinging The Other Way

Most of the time you’re nudging your co-bench partner to give you more seat space. So essentially sitting on benches really sucks. Generally they’re hard slabs of wood or concrete and do nothing much for your posterior or fun! This is the reason why we need more of the Swing Together Bench; I don’t need to say much…just have a look at the video and you’ll get the full picture. Google Offices can do with this swing!

Drink More Ink

Drink More Ink

No don’t do that! Only the plant should! No not that plant! This one! This is a plant that’s inside a pen, and it isn’t even alive. Except in your imagination. This is a concept design from Igor Lobanov would have you believe that not only do plants live inside pens just fine, even in the dark, but that also they can live on ink. That’s crazy talk! What are you even saying! Just let it sit there in the inkwell for a little bit and experience the magic.

Lighter Side Of Sketching

Lighter Side Of Sketching

One of the features that designers are going to sorely miss in the iPad is sketching straight onto the tablet. Many of us anticipated this element to be included, but sadly it’s not. So it’s back to the basics of getting back to pen and paper…or if you’d much rather fancy a Computer Notebook! Notebook Sketchbook it is!

Of Course! Brush Markers

Of Course! Brush Markers

Designer Phelan Miller hits us with an ever-so-slight tweak of the ever-present highlighter marker. As part of a 12-hour designer challenge where a rendering was due at the end of the period, Miller decided to fuse the highlighter and the paintbrush together. Incorporating a paintbrush-shaped handle and a chisel tipped color distributor, this right here becomes a pen I’m surprised doesn’t exist already.

Flowers Growing from the Fridge

Flowers Growing from the Fridge

You live in the city. You cannot tell a flower from a hole in the wall. Or perhaps you’d love to see a flower there, in the brick, just peeking out at you in this concrete jungle? I love that image. A flower is just a flower, appreciate it all the more if it comes popping up against all odds through the cracks of a dirty sidewalk. This fanciful nature is alive and well in the 25togo designed “Flower in Flat.”
