Disposable Printer
The Instant Cartridge Printer is an awesome idea modeled on the lines of how disposable cameras are dispensed. The plan is to buy a cartridge printer off the shelf, according to the paper size you plan on using. Related info like print speed, print resolution and color is provided on the packaging itself. The designers try and bring in an eco-angle by using recyclable paper for the milk-box packaging and recyclable parts. However the printer is powered by an internal battery & hooks to the device and comp via USB.
Although the concept is pretty neat I doubt it would be practical for people like me who go through printer cartridges faster than ballpen refills!

Why buy a almost as big but uglier thing to throw away? Very wasteful of energy. Stupid!

Today, people are buying things they think beauty but not very useful. After one or two years they'll buying another new one.
Most of people use the printer only few times in a year. But their printer on the shelf plug on the power all the year.
In the office, employee print everything they want because company should pay for that. The eco-view of this design is not the "recycle" way of the product but make you to think how much you really need. Corporation could control the amount of print by this product. The only one thing to recycle is the paper foam, the cartridge and battery inside is still reusable through the selling chain. The instant camera is one of the good example of this selling module. We don't buy the product because its shape. We buy because the amount of need. Anyway, thanks for the comment.

Still sounds like not solving anything but creating an even more wasteful behaviour. Throw away behaviour is the target to attack, make and create things we want to keep and use.

Far too many moving/precision parts in order to make this economical. And also, why the battery!? It needs plugged into USB anyway. Something tells me I missing something here, but I'm afraid I'm not.

Makes sense if the cost is the same as buying ink carthridges and paper separately….

BATTERY!!! you cant just burn them up in a disposable printer. what they should make is printing booths in public places like a shopping centre- you pay some money depending on how many prints you want to make then put in a dollar or whatever and there ya go print away

this is a stupid idea. we do not need to spread disposability and wastefullness to more items around the house.
