Hang Me Some Tea
If the Hanger Tea were to be submitted as an entry to tea-packaging-awards (if such a thing existed), I say it would win hands down! I can’t think of a better or more obvious way to pack teabags than this hanger & T-shirt design. It’s a funny take on how the simple motion of hanging a used teabag on the rim of your cup, be done. Color-coded for different varieties, the hangers are rather cute and so are the tea-shirts!

apart from how bags tend to float when you put the water in..!
Stijn says
Cute, but my tea always floats upwards so this hanger is pretty useless.
Amber says
I love it! The tea-shirts are the smartest. It would totally smoke the tea-packaging-awards
Jen says
Where can I buy it?!?!
Kay says
Yes, where to buy?

Cute, but useless. Height is set. I drink my tea from a bigger mug, hence the bag has to go deeper.
And packaging is wasteful.

they should come up with different sizes for the Teabags, XXL, XL, L, M, S, XS, just like the real T-shirts, to fit all different mugs, wouldn’t it be really cute?

Love it! so adorable, I would totally buy it – this would make my friends smile!

Yeah, I agree with this.
but the idea is good, isn’t it? haha ;D

agreed, the design is terrible, but would sell. its still a bad design, but validated by the monkeys who would turn out to buy it. pure gimmick.
Bauski says
then it is good design because it appeals to the emotions which is an aspect that is often neglected by functionality-obsessed people (I’m into engineering myself but you should keep a field of view that goes beyond your own preferences)

This is a good discussion. I sometimes have to design stuff that I would never buy, but the masses do for its price. For the company I work for if it sells it is beautiful! and I can afford to send my kids to college because of that. As designers we would have, I hope a higher sense of aesthetics, but in the real world it would be stupid to neglect the wants of the mass purchaser if you are in the business of making profits. Soon Mo Kang has a good idea, but the box packaging absolutely sucks.

At the same time though, I feel designers should be introducing (if not educating) consumers with innovative and creative AND smarter solutions, especially at these times when we have such environmental and supply concerns. If designers kept pandering to a s superficial market, it will remain a superficial market.

Awful, wasteful packaging, teabags need to move around to brew a good tea. Teabags float. You’re fired.

Are they available for purchase?

Why useless?? I always dip the bag in the mug a few times and only then hang it to the side. So this design works perfectly for me.

The best was to steep tea is loose so the leaves can open/expand as much as possible. When steeping loose tea and straining is not pratical one uses a tea bag. The best tea bag design is one that allows the tea to expand as much as possible within the confines of the bag. The two main problems with this design is that the tea bag looks narrow and therefore won’t allow much expansion of the leaves and hanger anchors the bag to the side of the cup which further limits one side of the bag from expanding and allowing the leaves to interact with the water. And as others have mentioned there is packaging waste as well.
Please research and understand things before raving about their design. I mention this because I’ve noticed this issue in some of your past reviews.

I love it and would like to buy some too. I think it’s a cute, creative way to sell tea.

One more issue about this design.
Water submerges the hanger when the cup is full. In the long run, you will be drinking tea with printed ink.
So I have to watch out for how much water to add each time? Boring.

Cool!..Just PERFECT!How can Iget them???
Denis says
Great idea!! Where can we get it?!

tea bags float because they are full of air at first. sink the teabag gently in your mug a bit and squeeze the air out. they will sink right down to the bottom. then, quit complaining about these. i think they’re adorable!
