Great design ideas, I really like the traffic light idea, I think it could be done with pedestrian crossings as well so people knew how long they had to cross the road safely. I really like the recyclable laptop what a cool idea – not sure it will catch on though.

I’m not sure about the rest of the world, but up here in Canada we already have crosswalk countdown displays.
And hitcount (for the comment below) does not equal good design.
The roadmap manhole cover? bad design.

Apparently, the only country without the countdown displays is the USA, because many people from other countries have said they have it, including me (I’m from Brazil). It reminds me of the eletronic voting machines… Brazil has had them for many years, (and it’s absolutely secure technology) while the high tech USA still votes on paper…

I assume the only reason this is called “Best of”, is out of pure sarcasm (Well, that and the hit count).
