Autonomous Life Vest

The Revival Vest is a self-inflating life jacket that uses Footfalls and Heartbeats smart fabric technology to monitor respiration and physiological changes such as drowning. The fabric detects changes in circumference and stretch around the chest while the diver suppresses breathing. If the wearer blacks out, the body becomes limp and life vest is triggered to inflate and raise the body to the surface for rescue.

Where can I buy one? I live in Denmark, Europe! I heard that it will cost about 840€. I hope the price will go down in the future and that there will come some good demonstration videos on the net!!!

By the time the victim is not breathing, (s)he’s gulped down enough water that (s)he won’t regain consciousness without CPR or a defibrillator. Simply lifting the victim to the surface will not revive him/her.

Having said that, this is a great design for the product, as it improves comfort and reduces the size needed for a life vest. Just FYI that it’s not a replacement for a CPR-certified friend and/or defibrillator.
